EVENING: I put together the stereo, and it looks, sounds, and operates just fine except that the tapeplayer doesn't have automatic music search like the last one I had did. I'll complain about that tomorrow.

I looked through the old Consumer Reports on Tape Players, and indeed mine has it all except AMS, and tape memory too. I'm quite satisfied otherwise.

The turntable, receiver, and disc player are the best. It's great to have all that control built in the receiver. I also like the automatic cueing so that when I start the turntable, the cassette starts to record if in pause.

SO NOW I'VE GOT A STEREO I'M HAPPY WITH. I'M GLAD TO GET RID OF THAT OTHER STUFF.

AND I FEEL PROTECTED NOW.

FRIDAY 6/21 Sunset at 9:15!

LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR.

MORNING: Walked to chiropractor, bought stamps, walk to gym + exercise. Do light squats new way. Home at noon after stopping at Church's chicken. Eat lunch out in back yard reading Innovations catalog looking for anything I don't have. Found a fireproof box, but anything I'd keep in one should also be kept of premises so I decided to make copies of important documents and put them into Rainier Box.

Also find little diodes in catalog which extend bulb life 10 times or more. Bought some of these at City Peoples.

(Madison Beach + reading Bright Lights, Big City. Sort of a bummer.)

After dinner, drove to parent's home, and took walk around neighborhood. Warm summer evening memories. Microsoft, and back to Seattle with sunset at 9:15.

Talked to Bob + Chuck. Go to Vogue for Microsoft Beach Party. Only a handful of people, but fun talking with Mike Courtney who knows Dan Ireland.

Neighbors + [?]

SATURDAY 6/22

Up at 10:00 At Tom Allens. Breakfast at Surrogate Hostess. Call Parents in Switzerland at 11:30. Great connection!

Went toward M. Park but saw clouds so I went to V. Park and read catalogs. Smart Image is real special items, and nothing I want for myself.

Then I came home around 4:00 and went to buy new watch at Jafco. Then went running at Greenlake starting at 6:00.

Dinner at home + read "class" at night. Watched half of Harold + Maude

SUNDAY 6/23

After breakfast, spent morning reading "Primer of Drug Action" that Brad gave me. There really is no excuse to drinking alcohol, except in small amounts. The only drug for me is amphetamines. And that is what Crystal Meth is.

Grocery shopping + lunch till 3:00. Go buy watch band at Fredericks. Exercise till 6:00 6-9 2024, then Dick's burger, then Ritz, meed Ed Nonnenbruch, then home.

MONDAY 6/24

Not feeling great. Cloudy, and still a buzz from Crystal. Using it is a means of borrowing against future energy. And if it doesn't pay off, like it didn't yesterday, then I feel sort of bad. It's not the drugs fault. It's mine or Seattle's. I've got to get that together. But how?

9:00 Chiropractor. Go shopping for watches after retruning Casio to Jafco. But after Fredericks/Bon/Friedlanders/Carrolls/Bon Bridge/Zales/Weisfields/Rivkins/Allen's on 5th I hadn't found anything I really liked, and I thought why am I don't this. I don't need a watch! My life is just not constrained by time enough to warrant several hundred dollars spent on a watch, expecially a good one costing $1090 like the Concord. Gold in a watch is super expensive. One little ring of it on the Concord Mariner is $400, and that's only half gold (14K). But I don't want a black + silver one because that's too high tech. Black is not warm like leather. And plastic is out. And gold plate is cheap. (BUT WHO CAN TELL?) BUT IT'S NICE TO KNOW WHAT'S THERE.

5:15 Rested awhile and realized that I must create iamge + env't that is very high-touch, not hi-tech, to counterbalance my work life. Thus I should have old tudor apt with area rugs and paintings not of geometrics like Vaserelie. All that is fine.

And I should have a watch, but it should be hi-touch: not digital, not black/anodized, but it should be warm gold and leather strap. There's no sense in getting solid gold, but it should be gold that wears well. The Seiko LaSalle and Omega are the primary choices then. So go back to Ben Bridge tomorrow and buy one of that type. All others are too cheap or too expensive.

Talked with Mark Sykes and I don't feel so tired now so I'll have a real hi-touch time with him. Opera + muscles.

Dinner at Pagliaccis. (Mark pronounces the "g"). La Traviata and good sex.
