[Mrs William A Couper] Hamilton
I would come over to see you my own darling child but I have [Davy?] very busy cleaning the carriage & mending the [Harness?] - & he will not be done in time I grieve to hear you are neither well or cheerful!! I thank you for your nice piece of veal - I assure you it is very acceptable as I really was just then bothering my head to think what I should get for tomorrow - Can you not come over to meet your dear father? I would send the carriage for you - but the girls have to go to church -
I also thank the [Cunninghams] for the pine apples - the children are crazy to eat of them -
do let me know by [Butler] if you will come - & I will see what arrangements I could make to get you here
Kiss the dear pets for your devoted Mother [AMK]
If the weather was more settled I would give you a good & cold for sending me a whole quarter of your fine calf - but such weather as this - it is difficult to save meat -

[Mrs Gale] begs you will send her the scraps of Calico & white - to go on with your quilt. I am sorry my dear child to annoy you - but I really am so much at a loss for a nurse for [Molly]s child. You know [Ila] has been minding it whilst the negros were in the barn. I cannot send [Ila] to Newfiled as she
