The time will soon come to meeti n an associational capacity, This will inform you that we have appointed our brethren John McHaney Lewis W Yates John Gilbert & R [F] Waller as messengers to Sit with you in counsel we send you by one of [mensengers] Three dollars for contingent expenses of the association Nothing of Interest to write you We have peace one with another The Gospel is regularly and faithfully Preached to us by Our Bro Booker from Campbell. 2nd Sunday & Saturday previous in every month Pray for us and visit us when you can

Miss Frankie sick this morning Nannie had to milk Jimmie & Wm gone to Millers Mill after meal for me & Edmond Dews this morning soon 18th Sent Edmond & Jimmie after my Boar barrow at Tom Owens, then shucking corn did not rain last night. Weather Still moderate, Jorden brot me the news about my hogs being at Owens got my Hog at Mr Owens this morning. Mr Wm. W. Moses came here to day brot my spectacles & my watch ___ 19th Rained last night weather warm cloudy this morning Didnot go to prayer meeting. 20 Monday gone after Tobacco bot at Constables belonging to Martin Smith in Neals little Barn Nannie has not come home yet - Jacob came home Saturday night brot a few shucks some 2 or more Babls Short & 1 Barrel good - 21st Jacob gone to the shoemakers to have his [shoes] mended Striped on Tobacco Bot at Martins Sale for Rent in the evening. all my Sows & Pigs up this morning pretty day 22nd Foggy this morning shucking out Eds [?] this day Nannie came home with Jerry yeste[rday] very much complaining all this day. 1876 Novr 24 Jacob started away to [try] & Settle with with Geo Glass this evening 25th Pulling & Hauling corn Peters to day [Edm?} Dews Nannie Jimmy & Wm Dews & Jordan Graves Hauling & Pulling. pretty day forthe work -- 26th Mott Graves & her family & WmMoses cam[e] here yesterday working & Stayed till this evening & Miss Fannie Howard here to day all gone this evening quite cool. Jacob has not come back yet most night Sunday 27 Edmond Jorden Graves Nannie Dews Jemme Dews & Wm Dews Pulling & Hauling up [corn] 7 Putting it in Granary to Shuck cloudy Snowed & Hauled a little Jacob got home last night 28th Edmond Dews Jorden Graves Kate Dews Nannie Dews Jimmie Dews Wm Dews - Sent Wm [Dews] after Bottle Whiskey cloudy all day 29 Jacob P Graves gone to Dillards Depot after fruit trees &C Bot of J K Jones Edmond Jorden Graves & Wm Dews hauling [sh?cks] on Hill for Steers all day to day sent Jimmy to Yates Mill with 2 Bus for our meal 1 1/2 Bus wheat for flour for us, 2 Bags for Edmond meal & a Bus for Jorden Graves, Jimmie could get it [Mr] Yates mill went up to Millers Mill & [?????] not it there till tomorrow [eving] & come home without any thing still cloudy [30th Shucking corn to day Jacob P., Edmd Jorden Graves Kate Nannie Dews Jimmy & Wm Dews Dec 1st 1876 So cold, & snow on the ground We could not House corn & Jimmy gone to Millers Mill it is very cold this morning our folks cutting wood [?????] to day Jimmy got meal 2nd very cold night wind from N West Snowed a little last night rather warmer this morning cutting & Hauling wood & litewood to day 3rd Not So cold wind Still Sunday clear this morning

1876 Decr 3rd My Wife & Miss Frankie Sick boh in the Bed sick this is Sunday evening clear day this & weather more moderate 4th Housing corn Peter[s] Edmd Kate till 12 [???] till night Jimmy Nanny 5 I went to Mount Airy to day. Edmond fixing to Kill my Hogs in the morning Jacob got got Jorden Setting out trees he bot, I come back by Mrs Wyatts she is coming over in morning to help about taking [off] Fat off Gots - 6th Killed 7 Hogs this morning Robt Tucker Jorden Graves & Simon Killed then Edmond Dews did not help Simon took his place Wm Dews cut a Saplin & throwed it on him Knock him down hurt him very much they were getting wood to Kill hogs. Nannie Dews milked night & morning ever since last friday night 7 Our folks cutting & getting wood Doct Wooding come to See Miss Frankie Leake to day Jacob out where they are getting wood cold cloudy & like for Snow weather a little more moderate last noon & several days in Decr Coldest I ever Saw the Same of the year - --- 8 Covering Turnip Patch with Brush Jimmie Plowing for corn to day Drying up Land to day & fixing [Saug??] grinding it seasoning it &C &C. Cloudy 9th Cutting & getting wood Jacob gone to [M] Airy to day clear & cold wind N. West 10th Jacob did not come back till nearly day as I Learn. Edmd come by about [n?????] drunk the others were doing but little it [w??] so cold Wm [?eavis] come in evening & [wants] to come over to his House & see If my sow was there cloudy & so cold I did not go to meeting S S. at all my wife has [a] dreadfull cold ever Since she Came home & Miss Frankie has been in Bed & had the Doct [wit?] her Twice for over a week now cloudy & looks like it [will So??] looks like Snow & very Cold indeed
