1876 June 20th. Edmond & Jimmie Beding lot by old prize Barn. Some of his gang helping of folks Peter thin corn to day & chop it clear fine day for business Peter planted part of his Lot yesterda. Edmond Planted old field in field by Bars 4 or 5 Rows in new ground and replanted the balance yesterday. Weather little cool at nights. Wm gone to mill this morning 2 Bags for me 3 Bus corn for meal lent Peter 2 Bus. corn to him Edmond sent 2 Bags Corn for meal Planted some water melon seed in Garden & Potatoe Patch on Hill & by shuck House Miss Hilled up our Sweet Potatoes on Hill yesterday & shuckedor fixed Snaps in Garden to day. Kittens missing to day my Boar been missing a week to day

21st Peter dragging his Lot this morning Edmond Laying off & Hilling his Lot putting Manure in the Hill Guano &[Hens Peter fencing his lot too he did not get done thinning his corn yesterday

22 Edmond & some of his gang Hilling Lot planted some of it yesterday Jimmie Plowing corn in Big field. Peter Adams Hauling Out Manure to day & Hilling his Lot & yesterday Edmond Finished Hilling his lot by old prise barn Plowing fresh ground on rain above granary very Much missing yet on road he got out some corn & put in soak to replant this 23rd June 1876

23rd Plowing same to this day in fresh ground Peter putting Guano in Hill in Lot by new Barn to day & Hilling that fair day nights cool Edmond Tucker began to /cut our little wheat just before 10 Oclock & finished a little after 12 Oclock Edmond Dews & Jimmie will finish over there corn one time by 12 Oclock or little after

24 Weeding corn Plowing Replanted still missing some there Peter working in shop Pulling Cotton for new ground Peter picking Plant Bed this evening

1876 Sunday June 25th I went to Fannies Kates & Jim[mies?] yesterday & got home before day light [down?] 26th. I went to Sunday school to day good many school but not full school. Beautiful Hot day rained a little in the evening.

1876 July 2nd I went to Sunday School, good many there scholars and teachers 3rd July 1876. Hauled up a [Earning?] Tobacco load or stack fodder. Cloudy & Hot & dry. Edmond hogs [pesters men?] every morning, Edmond weeding Corn in fresh ground above road, clear day after morning 4th began to cut Oats yesterday & Cuttining to day till 12 Oclock. Peter & Jimmie Plowing, Edmond [& etc?] weeding Corn in fresh ground. Rained a little here this evening. bees Swarmed yesterday Kate helped me. Swarms again to day. Peter helping me & Kate Misses Frankin tilled up Greens & cotton & [etc & etc?]. I went to Mr. Farthings got Nannies [share?] [c/2?] soled to day, paid him 25 cents 5 July dog days begins Jimmie & Peter Plowing in big field laying by Corn Edmond finished [?] weeding Corn in fresh ground above road fresh ground [__ding?] getting dry Jimmy Plowing Tobacco in new ground. Edmond Hilling up new new ground. Tobacco. Very hot & dry. Misses Frankie Hilling Sweet Potatoes by shuck house & working cotton. Edmond & Peter culling oats by Bee House a little while & then Plowing, Hilling up tobacco. Peter Plowing & laying by corn. Peter laying by corn til 12 o'clock then culli[ng?] Oats. Jimmie Tobacco till 12 o'clock, Edmd & all went to Oat field culling Oats. Very Hot weather about this time frame. Rained thi[s?] evening. very good Season. Peter went down to Jack Perkins & got some Tobacco Plants Come back this 7th Morning & did not quite get over Edmon Replanted his new ground & lot but got about 3000 lot to Whole Plant & replant [6000?] in old fie[ld?] Went /to culling Oats again about 11 o'clock. Very Hot. - No rain here to day thermometer about 90 degs 8th Finishing Culling Oats by 12 Oclock then plow[ed?] Corn Tobacco & Edmond Hilling up tobacco.

T. 11th Peter plowing in big field Edmond & Jimmie finshed by corn house and went in hot Then other side of old Pine Barn This morning some of them thinning corn Nellie plowing Hot and clear W. 12th Nellie resting today Jimmie plowing in lot by old pine barn Peter plowing in N 20acers or North acerage laying by corn Edmond ? had? some of his gang hilling up tobacco in new ground Wifs y+arnkin hilled up our sweet potatoes Nellie plowing after 12 ol cock some Edmond children thinning corn in Big field 13th Edmd and Peter got wagon and cart to haul up oats This Edmd says they all are in good order 14th Friday very dry and hot weather rains round on Banister yesterday and day before none here Edmd and Jimmie laying up here in fresh ground Peter laying by in big field ground To hard of this above he can't plow it fair morn ing and hot sure enough Sheltie come at 12 a clock and hurt 2 of my fingers on my right hand badly no rain yet hot weather 15 Edmond and Jimmie laying corn in fresh ground above grainery miller resting to day Mannie from working new ground tobacco Finished plowing above
