A beautiful day. Jim cut in the woods. Ben & Josie was in Danville. Come home about dark. I had supper a bout ready. Had sqirrel hash and sausage for supper. The baby done very well last night. Molly and [?] come a while last night. Mr Owens carried a load of tobacco to Gretna to day. He went on the waggon. Could not get any one to go on a truck. Edna has just broke a chamber vessel all to peices.

A good day. Ben and Jim cut in the woods to day. Marvin hauled wood. Josie baked a fruit cake this evening. I went to Marvins this evening. Carrie was sewing. I worked some button holes in Pauls waists. Charles Harvey come there to see if he could get William Gilbert to cut wood for him. Could not get him. I brought in 14 eggs to night. Eggs is selling at [?] cts per doz. Henry was reading in his new book to night. The children all has colds & coughs. Most everyone has colds now.

A cool windy day. Jim and Ben cut and hauled wood all day. I got dinner. Josie washed the dishes and cut out a suit for Franklin. Marvin and William (col) went to Gretna. I went with them. We bought several things. We made the trip fine. Josie had supper done when I got home

A clear cold day. Jim got some wood. Owen hoed [?] some corn. Ben & Jim [?] out some feed. Ben went to Chatham and I went with him. He carried some meat & beans for Nellie. We did not see Evylin. She and some girls had gone for hollie to decorate with. I had a good letter from Denia yesterday. She was at Earnest Craddocks. Lottie has a new boy baby. Today is Hazel Smiths birth day. I did not go in a store at Chatham. We stoped at Gretna a few minutes. Josie got dinner and supper. She had supper a bout ready when we got home. The roads is awful in some places from Gretna to Chatham. Henry went to Strait Stone and Mount Airy to day.

Sunday, December 19, 1920

A good day. All of the family staid at home until dinner except Henry. He went to Lee Brumfields and from there to Clide Reynols. He went on his wheel to Lees. Put in a barn and some one took it. I went to George Blairs. Did not see any of but Denia and Frank. Edna had made a fire and was going to the spring when I got home. All the Blair girls was gone to Strait Stone and Rens. Cordie was at Rens.
