Monday, December 20, 1920
A very good day. Ben & Jim shucked corn and hauled feed all day. I got dinner & ironed a little and churned. Fixed up the butter. Josie went to Carries. They made Franklin a suit I think is beautiful for them to make. Ben carried Josie and went after her. Henry went to school. He got his wheel a gain. Mr Field did not teach to day. The patrons met to night to decide a bout his teaching after xmas. Beatris Owen was here a while this evening. The baby done fine for her while Josie was gone.
Tuesday, December 21, 1920
A good day. Ben & Jim shucked corn. This morning Ben & Josie went to Mount Airy. They got home at twelve. Jim & Ben and Marvin & William cut feed all the evening for Ben & Marvin. I ironed some & got dinner. Late in the day I went to Marvins. Carrie was baking her fruit cake. It looked good. Henry went to school. Edna has a very bad colde. The baby cried most of the evening. I spilt my ink.
Wednesday, December 22, 1920
A cloudy day and rain this evening. The men folks sawed wood here this morning and at Marvins this evening. Irvin Harvey had the team today to haul wood. It rained so much this evening that they could not haul much. Henry went to school. Josie made Franklin some clothes. Mrs Hubbard sent Edna and Josie a dress a peice that she had made for them. I sewed a little on the machine for the first in several months. I hemed a pair of sheets. There was to be a box partie at the school house to night. It was so bad that no one went from here.
Thursday, December 23, 1920
A good day. Ben & Jim helped Marvin saw wood. They got done by twelve. Jim went to Chatham. Marvin carried him to Gretna. Ben sawed wood at Johnson Reynols. They got done by night. Josie baked several cakes. They looked good. I made two aprons. Henry brought in some wood. The children has bin wild to day. They feel Xmas. Josie and Mabel has bad colds and Edna, Josie & the children shelled some pea nuts ready for roasting.
Friday, December 24, 1920
A good day. Ben sawed wood at Kates and Mr Edmons. He went to Strait Stone to night. Henry went with him. They did not stay but a short while. Josie made some cakes. She has bin complaining all day with a colde. Mrs Car sent her a present and me one two. I got several presents today. I am glad to be remembered by the children and friends. I am sick tonight. Think I am taking a colde. The children has had colds. I am sorry for them. I was at Mr Owens a few minutes this evening.
