A clear windy day. Mr Power and Carr was here this morning. Ben worked on the house this evening.
Josie got dinner. She fixed steak and made potato sallid this evening. I went to Carries. Mollie and Johns was there.
Henry and Edna went to school. Two of the teachers went to the teachers meeting at School field.

Monday, December 9, 1918
A good day warm for the time of year. Ben worked on Owens house. I went up to Owens this morning a few minutes.
I boiled the last of our beef today. Josie fried dougnuts. We heard that Kate Harvey is sick. I do hope that she may not be sick long.
Think now that I will go to Danville to morrow with Mollie Reynolds.
Ben and Josie and Miss Janie Gravley has all gone to Cedar Forest tonight to get things for a fruit cake.

Tuesday, December 10, 1918
A cloudy day but no rain. Ben worked on Owens house. Josie staid at home and worked all day.
Ben carried me to Johnson Reynolds be fore light this morning. I went with them to Danville. We was at Spring Garden be fore it was light good. We saw lots of pretty things. I did not by much. Eat supper at Mollies and enjoyed it. The boys Robert and Floyd got them a bycicle to day.
I am at home to night O K. Miss Janie is here to night. I enjoy having her.

Thursday, January 16, 1919
A clear day.
Ben & Jim worked on Owens house. Josie got dinner and straitened up the cook room. Washed & filled up the lamps and made some candy.
I went to see Mollie this evening they were all well up there. They had heard that Clifton was sick. I hope that he may be well soon.
Josie started to Danville while I was there.
Marvin pulled down his olde barn today. Ben & Josie was asked to a dance tonight. They did not go.
Jim and Ben & Josie are playing cards tonight. I think they had better go to bed.

Tuesday, January 21, 1919
A good day. Ben and Jim worked on Owens house.
Mr. Owen and I and Owen's children and Henry stripped tobacco. Owen and his children stripped all day. Henry and I half the day. Mollie & Christenia Reynolds come and eat dinner with us. Josie had a good dinner.
Marvin went to Gretna today with tobacco. It solde very well.
I had a letter from Mary Brumfield today. They were all well.
