A good day. We all staid at home today. Mabel is sick yet. We heard from Lonnie and Cordie today they are getting on very well at this time. We had fried chicken and ice cream for dinner.

We had a surprise this evening. Marvin & Carrie and four of the children and John Brumfield come. We all was so glad to see them.

I am so sorrie that Mabel is sick and we don't know what to do for her.

A bad day. Snowed all day. Not very cold. Mabel is sick. I am so sorrie for her & her mother.

Jim & Ben stripped tobacco. Mr Norman Booker helped them. I killed a chicken & dressed it and got dinner. Helped to holde Mabel some. Josie done what she could. She had to rock Mabel most of the time. Henry & Edna went to school as bad as it was. I have bin mending overalls tonight.

I sympathize with all the poor and hard up people and the sick and that is the most of them.

Made the ballance of the way OK. Ben got home before dark. Josie had a letter from Carrie today. We are so glad to hear from them. We heard to day that Smith the Banker had left Gretna. We are very sorrie for that. Josie milked to night. I got supper. The children & Ben are playing carrum. I think they know their lessons. Mabel is up yet.
