Trustees .

The regular monthly meeting of the Trustees, (the same being the final meeting of this Board,) was held at the usual place on _

Present, the President, Messrs Cheever, Crocker, Curtis, Gould, Little, Nazro and Read. _

The record of the last meeting was read. _

Claims of Miller Heirs, & L. Stanwood _ Final

Mr. Curtis who was appointed a Committee to settle the claims of the heirs of Edward Miller and of Lemuel Stanwood, for lots taken, reported _

That he has made a settlement of the claims of the Miller heirs by the payment to them of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars, in return for which they have releasd all right and title in the lots granted them. _

Also, that he has made an arrangement with Lemuel Stanwood for an exchange of lots, the papers for which however have not been completed. _

And the report was accepted. _

Relations with M.H. Socy Unfinished

The President for the Committee to consider the relations of this Corporation to the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, stated that the Committee had given the subject much consideration, but are not yet able to report,. _

Water question same _

Mr Curtis for the Committee to inquire on what terms a supply of water for the Cemetery can be

procured of the Cambridge Water Works, stated that the Committee were unable to report on the subject. _

Price of land west of Chapel _ Unfinished _

The President for the Committee upon Grounds, to which was referred the question _ What price shall be charged for land westerly of the chapel upon and adjoining the land lately filled up, stated that the Committee were not prepared to report.

Loring A. M.'s Purchase & Improvt of Meadow Pond _

Also, upon the application of Mrs. A. M. Loring to purchase land at the head of Meadow Pond, that the Committee had accepted her proposal, the land had been conveyed to her, and improvements had been made by stoning around a part of the pond: _

Tomb & Lots of Blaney & Ward _ Removal _

That they had effected the removal of tombs and lots upon Snowberry Path, _ those of Messrs Benjamin Blaney and Samuel L. Ward, owning respectively lots numbered 577. and 588. these gentlemen having accepted lots upon Primrose Path.

New Path to Raymond Lot _

That they had laid out a path from Moss Path to Lot numbered 1994, that of Curtis B. Raymond, upon the suggestion made by the Committee on lots and referred to them at the last meeting. _

And their report was accepted. _

New Mayflower Path _ Old discontinud

Dr. Bigelow, to whom was referred the subject of naming a short path between the two branches of Elm Avenue, reported, that he had given the same the name of Mayflower Path, agreeably to the request of

Andrew Lawrence, the old path by the name of Mayflower having become extinct by the grading of the hill near the entrance.

The report was accepted.

The President also as Chairman of the Committee upon Grounds stated that with regard to the following matters referred to them they were not prepared to report. _

Lots in sides of hills _ no report ready

Upon the question of expediency of making sales of lots in the sides of the hills of the Cemetery for the construction of Tombs: _

Receiving Tomb _ no report ready _

Upon causing such alterations to be made in the Receiving tombs as to prevent the escape of effluvia: _ and upon the lease of a privilege opposite the gate. _

M. Dyer _ Lot 339 _ Leave to construct Tomb _

Mr Curtis for the Committee upon lots to whom was referred the request of M. Dyer for leave to construct a tomb in Primrose Path, lot number 339. reported that leave had been granted Mr Dyer for the construction of such tomb in conformity with the by-laws. _

Accepted. _

Gratuitous care of Lots _ No rept ready.

He also stated that the Committee were not prepared to report upon the question _ "how much time shall be annually devoted to all lots in the Cemetery without charge, which was referrd to said Committee in April last. _

Treasr's Report Suptts read _

The Treasurer then read his annual report, also that of the Superintendent.

And upon motion by Mr Read there were severally accepted, and ordered to be read at the Annual

Trustees Report

The President also for the Trustees read their annual report, which was, upon motion by Mr Curtis, accepted and ordered to be read at the annual meeting this day. _

Represents of Lots appointed _

The following designations were made, upon notice and petition to represent lots. _

Lot 816

Upon notice, Dr. Wm E. Coale to represent the lot of the Scots' Charitable Society , number 816. ~

And the following upon petition, // Sarah T. Jenkins ^of Roxbury widow of Isaac Jenkins, to represent lot numbered 2521: _

“ [Lot] 1249

Harriot T. Tewksbury of Boston, widow of Geo. P. Tewksbury, to represent ^his lot numbered 1249: _

“ [Lot] 1792

Thacher Magoun of Medford son of late Thacher Magoun to represent his lot numbered 1792: _

“ [Lot] 1877

Louisa Foster of Charlestown widow of late Jacob Foster to represent his lot numbered 1877. _

“ [Lot] 317

Dr Henderson Inches, eldest son of late Henderson Inches, to represent his lots numbered 317. and 395

“ [Lot] 807

Charles K. Cotting ^of Brookline son of late Amos Cotting to represent his lot number 807. _

The board then adjourned without day.

Proprietors Annual Meeting _ .

"Mount Auburn Cemetery

The annual meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held at the Meionaon (Tremont Temple), on , to hear the reports of the Trustees, Treasurer and Superintendent; to choose Trustees for the ensuing year; and to act on any other business that may legally come before the meeting.

Boston Austin J. Coolidge, Secretary."

Pursuant to the foregoing notice which was published more than seven days before the time of meeting in the Boston Daily Advertiser and several other newspapers in Boston, the Proprietors met at the time and place therein named. _

A quorum being in attendance, the President, Dr Jacob Bigelow took the chair.

Reading of Records

The Secretary read the ^printed notification of the meeting; also the record of the last annual meeting, and the adjournment thereof.

Trustees Annual Report

The President read the Annual Report of the Trustees, and the same, upon motion of Dr Geo. Bates, was accepted, and ordered to be printed for dis- tribution among the Proprietors.

Treasurer's Annl Rept

The Treasurer read his annual report, also that of the Superintendent. ~
