Receiving Tomb Deposits
The Committee on Rules & Regulations of Interments to which was referred the communication of the Superintendent as to insufficiency of charge for Receiving Tomb deposits in cases where the bodies are left for the Corporation to dispose of.
Reported – recommending the amending of the By-Law on Receiving Tombs in such manner as to require a deposit of twenty dollars, fifteen of which should be refunded &c, as is provided in the bylaw.
Voted that the report be accepted, and that the proposed amendment be referred to the next meeting of the Trustees.
Mr Nazro presented the following: _ "That information having been received that the land adjoining Mount Auburn on the westerly side is about to pass into other hands, and that it is contemplated by the Cambridge Horse Railroad to purchase it, and remove their stables there, which is likely to prove a great detriment to the Cemetery; and also in view of the great prospective advantage which may be secured to the Cemetery by the purchase of said land by the Trustees

of Mount Auburn at the present time, that a Committee of three be appointed to take the matter into consideration, and report at the next meeting of the board. _

A communication from a Committee of the Young Men's Christian Association, inquiry on what terms a lot of about two thousand feet could be purchased for that Association for the purpose of burying the bodies of such members of said Association as may die here away from home and friends - was read. _
Voted that it be referred to the Committee on Lots.
Report of Finance Comee
The Finance Committee reported that they had duly audited the Treasurer's report and that their report would be found annexed to the same in print.
The meeting was then adjourned without day.

"MOUNT AUBURN CEMETERY. The Annual Meeting of the Proprietors of the Cemetery of Mount Auburn will be held in Boston at the new rooms of the Board of Trade, No 55, Merchants' Exchange, (entrance through the Reading Room) on , to hear the reports of the Trustees, Treasurer, and Superintendent; and to choose Trustees for the ensuing year.

Pursuant to the foregoing notice which was published more than seven days before the time of meeting in the Boston Daily Journal ^advertiser, and several other newspapers in Boston, the Proprietors met at the time and place therein named.
A quorum being in attendance, the President, Dr Jacob Bigelow took the chair.
The Secretary read the printed notification of the meeting, also the record of the last annual meeting.
The President read the annual report of the Trustees, in print.
The Treasurer read his annual report; also that of the Superintendent, also in print.
Upon motion of Mr Jeffrey Richardson, it was voted that the reports be severally accepted.

Upon motion of Mr William Sturgis, it was voted that a committee of five gentlemen, to the appointed by the chair, be chosen to retire and report twelve persons to be elected as Trustees for the ensuing year.
