5/89 I'm picky about this. After affect of doing drugs? Or just doing meticulous coding?

4:15-5:15 Drive to Newport. Some thought

1) LA is not a [yellow]romantic[/yellow] place. Where do you go with another for quiet intimacy. There are no beautiful parks to walk through, and there are no beautiful beaches to drink amaretto out of crystal like in Laguna.

2) Should I have invited Rik down? I'm not in love with him. Crazy way to spell Rik. He's not blond or hairy. He's not curvaceous like Gary in SF, who was blond + hairy. He's very formal, and not a lot of fun. He'll be good to be around next week when I try to work. But having him here this weekend could blow it all. I'm going to be on a cruis-a-mati[c?] tonite. I like doing that. It is Saturday of Labor Day Weekend in L.B. (I do missing having travelling/no sex friend though).

Room 152 is quiet, no dramatic ocean view. Has the feel of 16 Perg[o?]la. Same architecture + nice garden. Disapp'd at first, but [yellow]it is so nice to be[/yellow] organized [yellow]in my own spot[/yellow] + all cleaned up - showered + shaven

6:45 Go to dinner. [yellow]I worked on the flight to LA + worked even after arriving at Dick's, and the all morning at Dicks Friday. So I spent about one day in LA.[/yellow] Sensing Bad Vibes at Dicks. Going out w/Jorge, Dick, Pat in LA. Doing Jim Morris's. Now I've left it behind as of 4:15. Since then, it's been late Sat aft, and now it's going into evening in O.C. [yellow]One day wasted in LA isn't too bad.[/yellow] It was wasted because I could've predicted I wouldn't like staying with Dick + Pat, and why waste my time going out in LA or to a gym if I don't have strong hopes for them.

7-8 Eat Take MDA at Coco's. Cute cashier boy stares me down! Fun

8-9 Drive over to Rancho San Jaoquin. A lot of important stuff came out of that place, especially regarding Pers Acct. Setting up my records initially, a timeconsuming task, doing a BASIC, so I can appreciate [Mac?] BASIC, and studying tech'l investment [?] Come home. Take Vitamins, brush teeth.

[margin]You couldn't make that experience happen if you wanted to. But it did, and was wonderful.

9-10 Rest + think. Try on different combinations of clothes. Watch Mama's Family. Go for Calvin Klein green OP shorts and Bananarama white T-shirt with Yellow piping on sleeves + green + yellow socks.

10-2 Go out. First take a stroll in the Park by Las Brisas. Warm, balmy moonlit evening. Goto Boom and immediately remember [yellow]the young crowd[/yellow] that goes there, but I get a kalua + Coffee + run into Jerry Karnish, and talk with him for two rounds of drinks (which we bought each other). Then run into RIck from Tim Morris (guy Glenn Cram was talking to on July 4), and he leads me to [yellow]Bill + Tony.[/yellow] Tony's a real nice guy, but talks in a Jockish way. They don't drink + Bill was especially tired, so Tony had to take him home. Then start to run down, and [yellow]by 2:00 I haven't met anyone.[/yellow] There were lots of [yellow]trolls[/yellow] to avoid as usual.

2-3:30 On sidewalk after closing, meet [yellow]Tim Urbina,[/yellow] and go smoke dope [at?] Vacation Village, and then go home. Tim has nice place in Newport. Important point is that [yellow]I probably won't ever see him socially again either.[/yellow] I'm not finding someone to wake up with daily. [yellow]What is the point at Laguna?[/yellow] It was Saturday night of Labor Day Wknd. [yellow]It's a resort. Something to vacation at. [yellow]Don't feel I need to achive something.[/yellow]

3:30-4:30 Good Sex

4:30-10:30 Sleep

-11:15 Small breakfast. [yellow]Not much hospilaity.[/yellow]

SUNDAY, SEPT 2

What to do today? Beach? I have no beach towel, and I hate going by myself. And its not real fun or relaxing like Drumms. No music or cocktails. Maybe I should go to Pool Part at Jim Morris's, and to Greg's for Tea Dance? Or I could just stay here + go to Boom Boom for Tea Dance, without going to beach

12:00 Shower + clean up.

[yellow]I was so happy to be gone from LA, why would I consider Jim Morris Party + Greg's. Good point. Why try to meet LA people? The point of this vacation is Laguna.[/yellow] I don't really need a beach towel. and I don't want to move my stuff. [yellow]I just got here. And Tony was friendly.[/yellow] The rest of that group could be important to get to know. And I've done Greg's really well last April + July. And where would I stay in LA, and do I want to be there on Labor Day? No [margin]And what would I say to Dick if I ran into him?[/margin]

So stay here. Go to beach after breakfast.

1-2 Breakfast at Coco's on PCH in Corona del mar.

2-2:30 Pickup beer. Go to West St

2:30-4:30 Talk w/Bill [Sawyer?], Jerry Kornish. [yellow]BIll says to give a call if I'm in Los Gatos.[/yellow] Bill [Croft?] really is a nerd. He's not that cute, but real big chest, arms, basket. Like Victor Jones says, a bear.

4:30-6 Go to Boom, quiet, go home, shower, back to Boom.

6-7 Time at Boom + try to find [Cliff?] Street.
