Sunday, April 22, 1923

A good day. We all staid at home until after twelve. Then Ben carried the children to Mr. Jim Powers. I went with them as far Earnest Craddocks. I am so glad that I went. Irvin Craddock and family was there when I got there. Then Ken and Ethel three children and Len Motley and wife and Claud [Deboe?] and wife and Ruth Motley and Elley Craddock and Isla and Cordie Blair and Mr. Taz Anderson. I was glad to see all of them.

Monday, April 23, 1923

A very windy daty. The men worked on their land all day Ben tried to burn the honey suck in the grave yard. Did not burn well. The children went to school. Lelia come here a little while this morning. Hatie washed today. The wind blowed the clothes all about. They soon got dry. I have bin busy all day.Worked the button holes in Henrys shirts milked the cows twice churned once cooked breafast dinner and supper. Washed dishes tonight.

Tuesday, April 24, 1923

A good day. The men worked on their tobacco land hauling manure and plowing. The children went to school. Mabel went with them to the field twice. I have bin busy most of the day. I baked sweet potatoe pies for dinner. Mrs. Ruth Booker come to see me today. I was glad that she come. I had thought maybe because I am old and am not fashionable that none of the would come. I heard to day that Marvin Smith was sick and several of the children was sick. I am asleep.

Wednesday, April 25, 1923

A good day. They boys hauled and plowed all the morning. I did as usual. Was busy and done nothing that you could see. Irvin Harvey and Kate come a few minutes this evening. Irvin come for seed corn. The boys corn was not fit for seed. This evening Ben and Jim Mabel and I went to Gretna. Bens car had a blow out. They worked on it a good while. Finely got it so it would run. We had as good trip as we could expect. Got home. Found things as good usual. I did not milk and was sorry for that.

Thursday, April 26, 1923

A good day. Jim went to mill. He got back by 11 oclock. He work on the garden all evening manureing and planting. Ben plowed all morning. This evening John Ward and Ben went to the island for guano. They were late getting home. I have bin busy all day. Fixed Ednas sweater sleeves. Made them short enough. Mabel has bin good today. Played out doors most of the day. I have not seen any body to day except Lelia Ward. Edna helped milk tonight. We had or first mess of plant bed salit today.
