Saturday, April 7, 1923

A very good day. Jim plowed some in the garden and planted some potatoes. Ben has not come home yet. I had a letter from Carrie today. Was glad to hear from them. Marvin had gone on a trip to Harrisonburg. Letia killed and dressed a hen for me. Nellie has waited on the children a lot today. Franklin is sick and Mabel dont feel good a bit and is so cross. Henry fished some today in the branch. Caught 4 little fish. I put out 25 little chickens this morning. I hope tht Ben will come home tonight but dought it.

Sunday, April 8, 1923

A rainy morning. Ben got home at home at eleven oclock. The children was so glad. He brought a nice fish home. We enjoyed it. Franklin and Mabel are very sick. Think Franklin is better than he was last night. They are broke out badly with measles. Nellie have held Mabel nearly all day. I got dinner. We had a chicken for dinner. This evening Ben and Jim Henery Edna went to [Vaugns?] store. Bought some apples and corn flakes. No one came today

Monday, April 9, 1923

A good day. Jim plowed some. Hauled out corn stalks. Ben went to Rob Hubbards and helped work on his house. He come home at dark. We was all glad. Franklin and Mabel are better today. Nellie has held Mabel a heap today. I hope she may soon be well. Henry went to school. Edna had to stay and help wait on Mabel. I put eggs under two hens tonight. [Louease?] Hubbard sent Mabel a little basket and Easter rabbit. She is please with them. She wont show them to me.

Tuesday, April 10, 1923

A good day. There was a big frost this morning. The men folks plowed and cleaned up all day. Nellie and I has held Mabel in our laps most all day. She has bin as cross as could all day. Edna has bin at home today. Henry went to school. Franklin went to dinner and supper. Hope it wont hurt him. I talked with Grace Brumfield. She said that the most of the sick was feeling a better. I will be so glad when the measles is over. Ben is singing Daniel Tucker to Mabel. She wont go to sleep.

Wednesday, April 11, 1923

A good day. The men plowed all day. Ben broke his plow handle. They had Mr Bookers horse. The children has staid at the dining room today. Mabel is as cross as she can be. Nellie and I dont do any thing more than what is oblige to be done. Spend the ballance of the time attending to Franklin and Maybel. John carried the clothes home this morning for Lettie[?] to wash. Ben planted his dalah roots to day. Edna went to school today. She is broke down to night. Nellie got a checm to day for her going to see then.
