Monday, April 2, 1923
A clear colde day. Ben and Jim worked all day. John Ward worked half the day. Then took holiday. Kate Harvey come to see us today. I was glad to see her. So glad she is able to walk that far. Jim got home last night and we did not hear Jim. Marvin brought him. I know he had a colde trip. I would of bin glad to see him and all the rest of them. I miss Nettie. Hendricks Baley has measles. Hope it wont hurt her much. Franklin is sick to night. We think he is taking measles. Edna and Franklin and Mabel did not eat supper.
Tuesday, April 3, 1923
A good morning. Rain this evening. They plowed some today. Jim planted potatoes. Mollie Reynolds come to see us this evening. I was glad that she come. Johnson come for her. I was glad. Ben would of carried her but his car has no top. Franlkin is sick. Edna and Henry are getting on very well. I had a letter from Lottie Craddock. Was glad to here from her. Ben had a letter from Lelia Car. Mrs. Car is sick yet hope she may be well soon.
Wednesday, April 4, 1923
A cloudy day and rain this evening. The men plowed this morning. Nellie comes to Gretna & phoned for someone to meet her it rained so hard that Ben did not go. I will be glad when she comes. The children is all complanning and cant help me much and there is so much to be done. I have bin neading Brownies to(?) tonight mrs Booke lent it down here.
Thursday, April 5, 1923
A cloudy day and some rain. Jim and Ben went to Gretna for Nellie. She staid at Posey Reynolds last night. We were all glad to have her back. Franklin and Mabel is complaining. I think they have the measles. I wish they could get over with it soon. Ben got some cement to fix a spring. Hope it may prove to be a good one. The children cough so bad I am sorry for them.
Friday, April 6, 1923
A good day. Ben went to Rob Hubbands to help cover a house. Jim hauled sand a part of the day. Then went to the store. He bougt some matches. Lelia Ward washed some for me today and ironed and brought the clothes home. Nellis has sewed some today and helped attend to the children. Franklin and Mabel is both sick. I am troubled a bout them. Guess they have got measles and can't brake out. I see lots of trouble. There is so much that should be done that I cant do.
