A clear morning. A hard rain this evening. The branch was all out of the banks a gain. Jim & Nellie started to the Island. They had got as far as Arch Moons when the rain began to fall. When [it] quit so that they could, they come back home.
Josie got dinner. I churned this evening. Josie made Henry a blouse. I went to Marvins.
Alma was makeing Carrie a dress. Marvin went to the mill this morning. Did not get his grain ground.
Jim brought the olde hog this evening.

Tuesday, July 29, 1919
A clear morning. A shower this evening. Ben & Jim topped tobacco.
Josie got dinner. Mary dressed to go to meeting and Marvin did not bring the children so she did not get to go.
Dr [?aton] was here today him and his assistant.
Dr Bennett & Sam Bennett was here to day. They are anxious a bout the election. I want Bennett elected and don't know why.
Ben went to Rennan today to talk to Lee Brumfield.
Mary & Henry, Edna and Franklin all went to Mr Hutchersons for apples.

Wednesday, November 19, 1919
A clear cool day. Ben & Jim stripped tobacco. It was so dry they could not do much at it.
I got dinner. Josie made a box for Beatrice Owen.
Ben and Josie went to Renan a few minutes at twelve. Miss Willie Wooding come a while this evening.
Josie has had the tooth ache all the evening.
Ben & Jim went to the barn to night to tie some tobacco & have not come to the house yet.

Monday, December 15, 1919
A clear colde day. The boys hauled & shucked some corn. Mr Jim Doss got three pigs from here today.
Josie done a big washing. She washed at the house.
I got dinner.
Edna did not go to school to day. She has a very bad colde.
Mr Mayhew & his son Robert come tonight to play cards.
The baby is cross tonight. Josie is in Henrys bed a sleep with her.

Saturday, December 20, 1919
A clear day. The ice melted some. Henry rode on his sled a while this morning. Tonight Henry & Edna has bad coughs.
Jim stayed a round home all day.
Ben sawed wood for Mr Edmons.
I got dinner. Boiled the last hog feet.
Josie starched the cloths that she washed the first of the week. Tonight she washed up the diningroom floor.
