My dear Mrs. Johnston:

I am taking this opportunity to write you to express my appreciation for the lovely sweater that the gentlemen from the Y.M.C.A. has just given me. I have been in the airforce a year and always wanted one just like this.

I must say that I think it is very kind and thoughtful of you ladies to devote your time and money to us fellows whom you will probably never see.

Sometimes we fellows feel that the civilians have forgotten us. but when people like yourself go to all the trouble you do. We know that you are behind us.

Thanking you once more Mrs. Johnston, and all the ladies in the auxiliary, I am

gratefully yours. Leslie Reeves

Dear Mrs. Hall,

Your very welcome gift of Buckingham cigarettes was received a very short time ago.

They made the trip from Canada to North Africa and after spending two or three months there were finally returned to England. In spite of the long journey they were in excellent condition and very much appreciated.

Thank you for your kindness.

Sincerely, Jim Lewington

W.A.F.A. Oshawa Ont

Dear Madam Secretary:

I received the box of chocolates the Womens Air Force Auxiliary so kindly sent me for my birthday. As you may know birthdays in the services are more or less a thing of the past and it is certainly a wonderful idea that the women in Oshawa have banded together to remind their boys that a birthday is not just another day.

Again may I express my appreciation for your kindness

Sincerely, Ian M Horton P/O
