here from the Sanitary meeting, went to the Reading Circle after tea:

4th mo 1st 6th day Cloudy all day, begun to rain about 5 oclock: Kate spent the afternoon here: Mary Miller spent two hours here in the afternoon: William at Brooke Grove after supper Henrietta and i at the store after dinner.

2d 7th day Snowed all day: A political meeting at the Lyceum in the afternnon: William at it: R. J. Bowie, Montomery Blair and ex-governor Bandall of Illinois spoke,

3d 1st day C;loudy tho no rain: William took Henrietta and the children home, Lucy went with them to go to Baltimoore tomorrow: no one here all day: William at E. L. Bentley after supper.

4th 2d day Clear morning, clouded up before noon, begun to rain by 3 oclock: William took mother to Uncle Samuels after dinner, went for her in the evening: Fred Stabler here to supper, went to the Lyceum with our boys after supper: Emily went to Clifton to stay all night.

5st 3d day A rainy day: William wnet to Cedar Lawn after supper.

4th. mo. 6th. 4th. day Cleared off early in the morning : at monthly meeting; at the store in the afternoon, William went to the election in the afternoon, to William Moore's to supper, to Clifton after supper.

7th. 5th. day Clear: I spent the day at Uncle Samuels, Emily went down from school in the evening: father went down to B. Downes's in the afternoon: Joe went to Harewood after supper

8th. 6th. day Clear day: Joe went to Washington with hay: William went to Brooke Grove after supper: mother laid up with a cold. Annie Hallowell called at 6 oclock for the Evergreen tree.

9th. 7th. day A rainy day: cloudy all day; a little rain in the morning, rained all the afternoon: Joe came from Washington

10th. 1st. day. Fair day: no one here all day: William at Uncle E. Thomas's in the afternon: Emily and I at Harewood awhile in the afternoon.

11th. 2d. day. Fair most of the day: a slight shower at noon: Emily and I went to the store after supper: William at E. Lea's and Phils after supper.

12th 3d. day. Fair most of the day: father at Uncle Samuel's and Ashton in the morning, at Ashton again in the afternoon.

4th. mo. 13th. 4th. day Fair morning and evening; a shower early in the afternoon Uncle Sam and Debbie here to dinner; I started to go to Sharon in the afternoon, got caught in a shower, called at A. Gilpins then home, and to Harewood awhile; Joe at Harewood after supper. Father's birth day;

14th 5th day Clear most of the day; a few drops of rain about 2 oclock: father went to Brookeville in the morning to get a coat cut-out; I went to B Miller's in the afternoon, had a pleasant visit: Joe and William at the Lecture after supper.

15th. 6th. day Clear morning, cloudy afternoon: I went to the school house in the afternoon, to hear the recitations: Emily Thomas came home with Emily: father went down to cousin Samuel Bevan's land down by Brady's, in the morning; William at Sunny side after tea: Kate here awhile in the afternoon.

16th. 7th. day. A rainy day: WIlliam at a stage meeting in the afternoon. at Ashton after supper:

17th. 1st. day. Cloudy 'till about 3 oclock, a shower just before it cleared off: Emily Thomas went home after meeting: Roger Farquhar dined here: Gilpin here awhile in the afternoon. Emily and I went to the office after supper.

4th. mo. 18th. 2d. day. Clear day: Mother very poorly all day: father went in the afternoon to Perry Leizear's, to take his coat.

19th. 3d. day. Clear day: William started to Baltimore about 10 oclock, with a party of young people, to the Fair: I went to Sharon awhile in the afternoon.

20th. 4th. day. Tolerably fair day: William came home from B. I did not go to meeting, Mother poorly: Aunt Nancy called before meeting.

21st. 5th. day Fair most of the day, a shower about noon: Lucy came home from Avondale, in the stage: William at the Reading Circle after supper.

22d. 6th. day Clear day: I went to the store in the afternoon: Kate here awhile in the afternoon: Joe harrowing in the meadow.

23d. 7th. day. Clear and windy: Joe harrowing in the meadow: father went to Mechanicsville at 11 oclock, to attend a sale, got back at 2 oclock, then I went to Olney, to go to Fair Hill with Anna F. and Pattie B. staid all night at Olney. Lou Hall went with us too: Lucy at Harewood awhile in the afternoon.

Aunt Nancy and Cousin Sally Brooke called here in the afternoon: Lucy and Emily at Harewood after supper. William at Uncle E. Thomas's awhile in the afternoon

25th 2d. day. Rained in the morning, cleared off by noon: Emily did not go to school 'till afternoon. Lucy went to Phils awhile in the afternoon, home to supper: Sarah Stabler called here in the afternoon:

26th. 3d. day. Clear and windy: I went to the store in the morning to Uncle Samuel's awhile in the afternoon: Lucy went to Fulford.

27th. 4th. day. Clear most of the day; cloudy awhile in the afternoon Cousin Bet and Margaret Farquhar here to supper: Lucy came home from Fulford after supper: Joe at Harwood.

28th. 5th. day Clear and windy: WIlliam begun planting corn at noon, Joe helping him: at half past 10, a messenger came to say that Uncle Sam is dangerously ill; father went up directly after dinner, came back by half past 5, left him very low. Lucy went to Fulford in the afternoon; Annie Dickinson spent the afternoon here; Kate here awhile
