4th. - 5th mo. 29th. 6th. day. Clear day: William finished planting corn and came home by 3 oclock, then went to Laurel on an errand for father, back before bed time: Uncle Sam still very low: Julia Stabler came up: Aunt Jane here awhile in the afternoon.

30th. 7th. day Clear morning, clouded up and begun to rain about 3 oclock: Joe planting in the meadow; William helping him: Lucy came home from Fulford after supper: I spent an hour at Harewood in the morning; Uncle Thomas died at half past 2 this afternoon: Joe went to set up tonight.

5th. mo. 1st. 1st. day Cloudy morning, cleared off by noon; Lucy and Emily at Burnside to supper: No one here all day:

2d. 2d. day Clear and windy, 'till afternoon, a slight shower early in the afternoon, a storm of wind and rain between six and seven in the evening: Eddie Louis and Jordan called in the morning. They came up yesterday: all of us but Mother went to the funeral; quite a large funeral.

5th. mo. 3d. 3d day. Clear, cool and windy: father and mother went to Uncle Samuel's in the afternoon; Kate spent the afternoon here: William at Joshua Gilpin's after supper.

4th. 4th. day Clear and cool; Joe went to Washington: Lucy and Emily went to the Cottage to stay all night I spent the afternoon at Sharon;

5th. 5th. day Clear: Lucy came home from the Cottage early in the morning, Mary Brooke came and staid 'till 3 oclock, when Lucy went to Harewood with her to tea, both went to the Lyceum after tea, and William too; Louisa Thomas called here after tea; Gideon and Sarah called awhile about 8 oclock Emily Gilpin and Kate called in the morning; father went to Brookeville to a sale: Joe got home from Washington. Lucy went to Fulford from the Lyceum.

6th. 6th. day Clear and warm: I went to Spring Gardens early in the morning, with Arthur, who went for Julia Stabler; Lucy got home from Fulford in the evening: Debbie and I called at John's awhile in the afternoon; were sent for at half past 10 at night, just as we got to sleep, Evy worse. Joe finished planting corn, William helping him; father at Uncle Samuel's and Perry Leizear's in the afternoon.

5th. mo. 7th. 7th. day. Clear and warm: Debbie and I at John's 'till 10 at night; Evy died at 8 oclock, in the evening:

8th 1st. day Clear and warm: Debbie and I at John's in the afternoon and evening too: Benjamin Hallowell had an appointed meeting in the afternoon, to encourage young people to a stricter attendace of our week day meetings.

9th. 2d. day Clear until evening, a slight shower: William went up to the funeral, which was at 10 oclock, and I came home with him; Martha Holland called here about 5 oclock: Joe planting potatoes at Ingleside William helping him, in the afternoon; Aunt Lizzie and Annie D. called here in the afternoon; Lucy went to Burnside after supper to stay all night, a large drove of cattle went by, 3 fell down between the meeting house and Weller's branch, father had them brought in, in the evening.

10th. 3d. day Clear until toward evening: Mother dined at the Cottage, went to Burnside to supper: Annie Porter dined here, Lucy came home in the morning, went with Annie to Uncle Samuel's in the afternoon William at North Plainfield after supper.

5th. mo. 11th. 4th. day. Some clouds flying about all day: a slight shower in the afternoon: Lucy came home from Uncle Samuel's: in the morning, went to Phils and to Ashton in the afternoon. Emily went home with Hettie Moore from school: a hard shower about 5 oclock, and rained all the evening; Lucy had to stay all night at Phils William at Ashton after supper; father at Uncle Samuel's in the afternoon.

12th. 5th. day Cloudy - foggy morning; begun to rain and thunder about half past 10, the sun out awhile in the afternoon, a gust in the evening: father took me to Avondale in the morning, he came home in the evening, had to stop at Uncle Calebs out of the gust, large hail here; Lucy got home from Phil's early in the morning. Annie Marshall came today.

13th. 6th. day A thunder gust in the morning, with hard rain, rain again in the evening;

14th 7th. day Rain in the morning, the shone out awhile in the afternoon; I took a walk with the children in the afternoon William went to Alexandria, took Sarah Bentley to Georgetown.

5th mo. 15th. 1st. day. Cloudy most of the day, thunder in the morning, and again half past 5 in the evening, quite a storm. 3 years today since Nicholas Snowden left home.

16th. 2d. day Cloudy early morning, cleared off before noon, bright afternoon and evening; Emma Snowden and her children came to Avondale in the morning, Emma the children and myself took a walk in the afternoon John Snowden his wife and four children came to tea; after they had gone, Henrietta the children and myself took a walk; got some little cedar trees to plant at Ingleside: Joe went to Spring Garden in the afternoon William got home from Georgetown; Lucy at Fulford part of the day:

17th. 3d. day Cloudy 'till noon, a bright evening: I came home in the stage: father went to Rockville: Mary Gilpin came home with Emily and staid to supper: Benjamin Hallowell was thrown from his horse yesterday and had one of his ribs cracked.

18th. 4th. day Cloudy most of the day; a slight shower in the afternoon. father and mother went to Baltimore, Catonsville County, to Brother's; William took Lucy to Spring Garden after supper: Emily and I at Harewood awhile; Joe and William both at meeting.
