Nothing else much doing all day. Took off by chest protector & am hoping for a good pair of strong lungs, & that I will remain healty & strong. How I hope I will keep my health, & grow larger & stronger that I may battle with the world and do

something worthy of note, to bring honor on my self & my mother who has done so much for me. Am looking for that much talked of surprise to-morrow. To-day was warm and balmy & I hope Spring is here. Good night 11:30 PM.

Saturday.

Box of candy from cousin Bettie & mama. but the other surprise I was looking for didn't come. Disappointed because I didn't get a letter. Wrote to Miss E. O. Nothing doing — feeling bum — blue. Bed at 11:15.

Sunday. Pretty cold Easter. Studied about seven hours and half — doing fine. No Letters, tough luck. Susie is mad at me because I got sore when she nearly pulled my ear off. Wickliffe got a tie & pin from Miss

Bowles. She surely treats him fine. Heard story of girl chopping slaw & shoveling it up with her foot, also finding bloody finger rag in a biscuit.

Bed at 11 PM.
