Cloudy Thursday, January 13, 1870

Left UBK's after an early breakfast and we depart at 8.30 for Havre de Grace & Home by way of Lapidun where I picked up Herman Stump Dr: and brought him home to Stafford. Reached home ½ past 2 p.m.

Cloudy. Friday 14 26°

Went to the village before dinner.

Sleety Saturday 15 34°

Went to E.M. Allen's at Glenville before dinner. Cousin Keziah went to Philada Bro: R came up to tea. Bro: Chas: arrived after tea having walked from Havra de Grace

Clear. Saturday, January 22, 1870. 29°

Went to Monsee's & Johnson's and to the store. Mrs Nathan Cope called at the office with her child. Watson went up to the Cove with my carriage after Bro R.A.J. Caldwell & Saml Holloway in the office in the evening.

Clear Sunday 23 43.

Bro R & I sat in the office all the morning Wm Wilson called & Mr Andrew's. Went to Monsey & Johnson's afternoon and again to Johnson's in the evening. Miss Bradly called at the Cottage. Very warm and pleasant. Set some of my flowers out in the yard to sun.

Went to Johnson's & Chas Holloway's spent part of the evening at R.I.J's with Miss Mc Ilvane & M Robinson. A.J. Caldwell in the office in the evening.

Rain Tuesday, January 25, 1870 51°

Went to Chas. Holloway's through the rain before dinner. Cleared off beautifully afternoon Miss Annie Mc Ilvain and Mary Ramsey called at the office. And Mr. W.W. Wilson in the evening. I wrote a letter to R.I.J. William Holloway called at office.

Clear. Wednesday 26 33½

Mailed letter to R.I.J. by the stage. Miss Annie McIlvain went home. I drove to Dr. Whiteford's Jno R Johnson called. Miss Rebecca Worthington called at the office. A. J. Caldwell called in the evening.

Clear. Thursday 27 41½

Went to DE Wilson's before dinner Recd letter from cousin R.I.J. Took Charley to the performance of the "amatuer Negro minstrels" in the village gotten up for the purpose of raising money to make a board side-walk in Darlington from Monsees to Pennings.

Clear. Friday, January 28, 1870. 54°

Went to the village before dinner Saml Wilson (colord) called at office Dr. WH Stump & H.C.Stump spent part of the evening in the office. Harriet & the children spent part of the afternoon with Miss Mary Ramsey & Mrs Stump. I let Dan go tp tje "Negro minstrels" in the evening.

Rain Saturday 29 38°

Edwd Brinkman called at the office for advice and medicine for his wife. Watson Lewis went to Haver de Grace after RIJ & wife, but owing to the rain they will not come until monday. Recd letter from I.Wood. W W Wilson called at the office.

Clear Sunday 30 34°

Went to Edwd Brinkman's near Dublin, over horrible roads. came home to dinner. Found bro R here he and Mr HC Stump spent most of the afternoon in my office. Called at Jno: R Johnson's.

Went to Glen Cove by way of the Hopkin's branch road. Called at Wm Websters dined at Marion Gilmore's. Cousins R I & Keziah Jackson arrived at home from Philad Recd: letter from F Tyson & answd it. Dr W H Stump spent the evening & night with me.

Clear. Wednesday 2 27½°

Went to Joseph Hopkins (butcher) to see Mrs H. called at Dr Whiteford's Recd letter from F. Tyson. Wrote to Dr W.S.F for R.I.J. Bro Richard came up from the Cove he & I spent part of the evening at R.I.J's.
