Rain Friday, February 18, 1870. 49°

Rainy disagreeable day. dined at R.I.J's Harriet received a letter from her mother. W.W. Wilson called towards evening. I loaned him Bro R's umbarella as it rained very hard

Clear Windy Saturday 19 22°

High wind all last night and this morning. Afternoon went to the village Newland Smith called for some medicine. The two Mrs Worthington and Johnny took tea with us, also Wm Coale (of Jno:) for whom I prescribed.

Cloudy- Sunday 20 31°

Went to Friends Meeting. Bro: R came up to Meeting, but owing to the bad walking & weather did not come farther than Mr William Wilsons. High wind and snowstorm towards evening. took tea at R.I.J's Mr H C Stump & Miss Mary Ramsey went to the funeral of Mr Thos: Archer.

Clear (High Wind) Monday, February 21, 1870 11°

Very cold and disagreeable on account of the wind, otherwise the clear cold weather would be a pleasant change. Received letter from Dr D.W. Cornthwait, and answered it. B Pritchard called at the office.

Clear Tuesday 22 6°

Exceedingly cold last night penetrating the house on account of the high wind Plants in the parlor windows froze with a fire in the room, shutters closed and curtains drawn. Went to the village and Jos: Edge's. R I J's team hauling ice all day. Recd & answered: letter from Dr Forwood.

Clear Wednesday 23

Took bro R to Glen Cove. Went to Jus: Corighan's. Stephen Scotten came over from Lan Co: with some things apples, fowls, potatoes etc. Dan helped cut ice for R.I.J. Wm & Albert Holloway called. also Dr Whiteford Miss Park and M. Ramsey, in Evening A J Caldwell, Dr Stump. D Holloway, H Waters & Stephie Scotten were in the office.

Clear Windy Thursday, February 24, 1870. 22°

Mr Webster Stephe Scotten & Dan butchered my hog for me finishing by noon. Stephe went home after dinner. Johnny Worthington called at the office also Dr Stump.

Clear Windy. Friday 25 18

Joshua Gorrell called with his child for advice. Mrs Jas: Forwood also came for advie & med: Mr W W Wilson and Mr Cooley spent evening with me.

Clear - Saturday 26 35.

Sent to mill for corn meal. Went to Glen Cove after Bro: R. Walked home with Miss Mary Park.

Cloudy- Sunday, February 27, 1870. 32°

R I J. W.W. Wilson A J Caldwell H Smith called at the office. Bro R & I took tea at R I J's. Rained at intervals all day.

Cloudy- Monday 28 38°

Snowd' a little in the night. I took Bro R to Glen Cove. Gave not to R I J for $100. Six months. Mailed R I J's check for $102. 15 cts to Dr Forwood. $99.05 of which was to pay my note to him & $3.10 from R.I.J. to pay for ring cushion etc. from Bullocks & Crenshaw's. Frank Worthington called, also Sanders. Sent Dan to Mrs Reson's with $15. for Mrs Walker, and to Mill for 100lbs flour.

Cloudy- Tuesday, March 1. 35

Made hot-bed in garden. Dr Whiteford. Dr Stump H.I. Stump & A.J. Caldwell called at the office. Went to the village.

Cloudy. Windy- Wednesday, March 2, 1870 25½

Received package from Sister Mary enclosing a letter and "tidy" knit by mother for me. Prescribed for Johnson's infant. Hugh Smith called. Went to Monsee's.

Clear Windy - Thursday 3 22°

Sent medicine to Gilmoore's child and a note to Bro R by Watson. Cousin R I J & H C Stump spent part of the afternoon in the office.

Cloudy - Friday 4 2°

Stephen Scotten came over from Lane: Co: and brought some apples etc. Recd: letter from Dr Forwood. Mailed letter to sister Mary. A J Caldwell sent me a load of hay-
