7 of Spiritous, Vinous & Fermented Liquours in Spring City during six months from and ofter twenty fifth of November 1871. The council adjourned till Thurs. Nov 30./71 {23)} Thursday Nov. 30th/71. 6 1/2 o clock P.M. The council met pursuant to adjournment at the hour of John Larsen S.B. Frost presiding. On petition of James Monson a license was granted unto him to kill and vend beef, pork, and other meats within the limits of Spring City during six months ensuing provided he first pay into the city treasury four Dollars and fees in wheat at ninety cents per bushel. Also on petition of A. (Nneils) Olsen a license was granted unto him to kill and vend beef, Pork, and other meats within the limits of Spring City during one year next ensuing provided he first pay eight Dollars and fees into the city Treasury. An ordinance regulating the duties of the assessor and collector; Also an Ordinance to compel the attendance of absent members of the council; Also an ordinance to compel the payment of taxes was before the council and received their first reading. The council adjourned till Thursday the 7th of Dec./71. 6 1/2 O Clock. P.M. {24)} Thursday Dec 7 th/71 6 1/2 o clock P.M. The council adjourned met at the house of John Larsen A quorum not being present the minority adjourned till Thursday the 21st of Des./71 6 1/2 O clock P.M. {26)} Thursday the 21st of Dec/71 6 1/2 O clock P.M. The council met at the house of John Larsen there not being a quorum present the minority adjourned till Thirsday the 25th of Dec. 6 1/2 O clock, P.M. By reason of the council not being full the transact business the reports of the Treasurer and street Supervisor were not made duty.

8 {26)}The council neglecting to meet on the 28th of Dec. 1871. pursuant to adjournment; The Mayor connvened the city council at the Meeting House on Sat. Jan 6th 1872 atat 6 1/2 O. clock P.M. An ordinance regulating the duties of Assessor and collecor was amended & passed by the council. council adjourned till Sat. Jan 20th/72 6 1/2 o clock. P.M. {27)} Saturday Jan. 20th/72. The City Council met pursuant to adjournment at the Meeting House: S. B. Frost was chosen Mayor Pro. tem. An ordinance amending an ordinance approved Jan. 8th 1872 relating to assessing and collecting of taxes: Also an Ordinance fixing the rate of ciy taxes were passed by the council. An ordinance compelling the attendance of absent members was agitated by the council and ordered to be laid upon the table till called for. The Treasurer's report was made at this meeting. The street super-visor's report was made at this meeting and ordered to be returned for correction. The council adjourned till Saturday Feb 3 d/ 72 6 1/2 O. clock P.M. {28)} Saturday Feb. 3d/72 6 1/2 O.clock P.M. The city council met at the meeting house pursuant to adjournment. James Commander presented a petition with sundry names attached to it, prayind the council to adopt measures for the suppr-ession of the sake of Spiritous, Vinous, & Fermented liquours, in Spring City. Also A.N. Olsen and eight others interested in the North west part of the city presented a petition praying the council to adopt measures for the removal of the fence to its proper place on the North of the county road running west to Moroni and west of the county road running north to Mount. Pleasant: which petitions were ordered to be laid upon the table till called for. A verbal petition was delivered to the council

9 for their consideration with regard to the appointment of some person to keep and dispose of liquor for (?sicliness). The council adjoured till Sat. Feb. 17th/72 6 1/2 O clock P.M.

{30)} Sat. Feb. 17th 1872 6 1/2 O clock P.M. The city Council met pursuant to adjournment at the meeting house. The street supervisor's report was received with his correction and approved. A committee of three Viz. S. R. Frost, R. N. Allred, and J. Frantzen were appointed to draft an prdinance specifying the fees of the city officers. a Petition praying for the remuneration of the police for their services was presented bu R. R. Allred Captain or Police. The council adjo=urned till Sat. March 20/72 3. O. clock P.M. The city council met at the meeting house pursuant to adjournment. The committee on fees not being prepared to reportm some other topics were discussed and the council adjourned till Sat. Mar. 16th/71 6. O. clock P.M. {31)} Saturday March 16th/72 6. O.clock P.M. The city council met at the meeting house pursuant to adjournment The council for and in consideration of the ten dollars and fee paid into the city Tresury of Spring Citu by the Spring City cooperation Mereantile Institution a license to sell Merchandize at their store house on Main street during six months from this date. Also for and in consideration of one Dollar and fee paid into the Treasary af Spring City the council of said city granted unto the spring City

{10} cooperation Mercantile Institution a license to cell Spiritous Vinous and Fermented Liquours for Medical purposes only at thair store house on Main street during the term of three months from this date. A petition was presented to the council by Joseph T. Ellis and five others praying for the closing of a two rod street on the south side of said Ellis land and opening a street on the west side of said Ellis land; Pending the discussion thereon the council adjourned Till saturday March 30th 6. O.clock P.M.

{33}Monday March 18th/72 6 O clock P.M. The mayor convened the city council at the meeting house for a special consideration of the petition of Joseph T. Ellis and others praying for the discontinuance of the street south of said Ellis land. A remonstrance was presented by J. T. P. Allred and twelve others against closing said street. The council after due deliberation unanimously rejected said petition. {33} Saturday March 30th/72.6. Oclock P.M. The city council met pursuant to adjournment. The council voted to refund the three Dollars license money paiee by S. R. Ailen for his liquour license which was grantwd to him Nov. 25th 1871. An Ordinance relating to the fees of the city council and others was passed by the council. Adjourned till Sat. April 13th/72 6. O clock P.M. {34} April 13th/72 6 O.Clock P.M. The city council met pursuant to adjournment. There not being a quoram present the minority adjourned till Saturday April 27th/72. 6. O. clock P.M. {35} April 27th/72. 6. O clock P.M. The city council neglected to meet.

Also to appoint a committee to draft an ordinance regulating elections in Spring City. Adjourned till Monday June 3rd 72 6 o.clock. P.M. {37)} Monday June 3rd 6 o.clock P.M. A minority met and adjourned till Saturday the 8th of June 3rd /72 6 o.clock P.M. Saturday June 8th 72 6. o.clock P.M. A minority again met and adjourned till Monday the 10th 72 6 o.clock P.M. {38)} Moday June 10th 72 6 o.clock. P.M. The city council met pursuant to adjournment. An ordinance was passed by the council regulating elections in Spring City. Adjourned till Monday June 24th 72 at 6 P.M. {39)} Monday June 24th 72 6. o.clock. P.M. A minority of the council met and adjourned Sine Die {40)} July 22nd 72 o.clock. P.M. The Mayor convened the city council at the Meeting House. An ordinance was passed by the council relating to the appointment of city officers. Also an ordinance appointing Sidney H. Allred city Marshall A license was granted to Abram Acord to kill and vend beef and other meats within the city limits during one month from and after the fifteenth day of July 1872. The term of office having expired the Mayor James A. Allred and the members of the city council present viz., R. N. Allred, L.B. Frost, John Frantzen, Abram Acord, and John Larsen and the capt. of Police Redick Redin Allred & Sidney H. Allred policeman unanimousley resolved to relinquish all pay
