Upon the petition of Sidney H. Alfred to be released from the office of city Marshal it was noted that when there shall have been a Marshal appointed and qualified, he shall be released from said office Adjoined till Saturday the [24th January 4. y O'clock A.M.] [ { 16th} {Saturday } January 24th / 4. 9 O'clock A.M] The city council met at the school house for the purpose of hearing and acting upon the report of William S. Barney assesor and collector of Spring city for 1873 and a portion of 1872 after due consideration the balance sheet of said assesors collector of 1873 are accepted. Also the report of the gudgment and collecting of taxes for 1872 was adjusted and received by the council. Motioned by councelor R. N. Alfred and seconded by councilor S. G. Bunnel that notice be given to all persons holding claims against Spring City, by posting three placards within the city limits to present their claims to the city Recorder [ treasurer ] on or before Monday the 2nd day of Febuary 1874, 6, O'clock P.M that their claims may be adjusted and allowed by the council at that date: Claims of all persons failing to do so will not be allowed. Monday Feb. 20 /74 6.O. clock P.M A minority met at the school house and adjourned sine die. 19th Monday Feb. 23/74 6hO. clock P.M. The city council convened at the school [Margin] Com. on survey of S City made report appropriation to Ferrin [End margin] house: The attendant committee on the survey of Spring City made their report which was accepted; Therefore on motion of councilor S.G. Bunnel and secon[ded] by council H. Olsen a resolution was passed by the treasury to pay survey on Ferrin for surveying and drawing a map of Spring City. Also on motion of council S.G. Bunnel and secnd by council J. Larsen an ordinance was passed appointing Joseph T. Ellis City attorney and Hans Adolph Thomson City Marshal in place of Sidney H. Allred resigned. Also on motion of R.N. Allred and seconded by J.T. Ellis the council resolved that John Franklin Allred be notified that he had the privilege to present his resignation as policman to the city council. Also R.N. Allred and J.T. Ellis were appointed as a committee of revision. The council adjourned sine die.

{20h} {19} Thursday March 12ty/74, 6, O. clock P.M. A minority met at the school house adjourned Sine Die. 21st Monday March 30th/74 6 1/2 Ol clock P.M. The Mayor convened the city council at the school house. Prayer by councilor H. Olsen. Roll call. A quoram being present, the resignations of John Franklin Allred and John H. Zabriskie as police,enr of Spring City were presemtes to the council. After due consideration the council voted to accept the resignation of John F. Alleed: The resignation of John H. Zabriskie was sefered for a future consideration. {22nd} Adjourned till Monday April 6 1/2 O clock P.M. Monday April 6th/74 6 1/2 O.clock P.M. The city council met at the school {23d} house. A quoram not being present, the minority adjourned sine die Monday April 13th/74 6 1/2 O clock PlM. The Mayor (convened?) the city council at the school house. Prayer by councilor R. N. Allred. Roll call; A quoram present. Sundry petition for appropriations for services ren=dered the city were presented to the council. (Whon?) motion of councilors H. Olsen and seconded by councilor S. B. Frost the sum of ten dollars was appro-priated to be paid out of the city treasury to R. N. Allred for his services as one of the board of health in the case of small Pox in the spring of 1873. On motiom of councilor R. N. Allred & seconded by councilor H. Olsen the sum of 3 dollars was appropriated to be paid put of the city treasury to John H. Zabiskie for his service as police man for Spring City from Sept. 9th 1873 Till March 12th 1874.

{20} On motion of councilor Olsen seconded by councilor Larsen the petition of william Scoll for services as police man for Spring City from July 18 72 till Jan 1874 was laid over On motion of councilor Allred seconded by councilor Olsen the petition of william S. Barney as Magistrate for the cost of Law-suit lost by the city amounting to $14.50 was laid over. Also ordered by the city council that the assessment of the taxes of Spring City for 1874 be made at one third of one percent and reported by the first day of June 1874. {No 24} Council adjourned till Mon. April 27th/74 6. P.M. Monday June 22/ 1874 6. O. clock P.M. The Mayor convened the city council at the Meeting House Prayer by the Mayor. Roll call. A quorem present. The council made an appropriate of ($31.09) thirty one dollars and nine cents to be paid out of the city treasury to Samuel R Aiken in means not otherwise appropriated for his services as Recorder and Treasurer: ($11.96) eleven dollars and nintey six [eing] due on settlment of the first term of office up to this date June 22, 1874. ammounting to ($31.09) thirty one dollars and nine cents. The council ordered a poll tax of one day's work for 1874 to be [levyed] by the city supervisor of streets upon each male resident of Spring Cityover the age of 21 years and under the age of 50 years. David H. Allred. John F. Allred. George Brough. Lutilus Burdick. Justice of the peace. Saml. R. Aiken Clerk of Election. 1st Monday Nov. 16th /74 6 1/2 O clock P.M. The Mayor called the council to meet at the Meeting House A minority only appeared and adjourned till Monday Nov: 23 /74 6 1/2 O clock P.M. 2nd Monday Nov 23 /74 6 1/2 O clock P.M. The council met at the Meeting House pursuant to adjournment. Prayer by the Mayor. Roll call; a quorum present. Several subjects were spoken upon. The subject of taxation being called up; Councilor R.N. Allred motioned that the recorder notify Wm. S. Barney the collector to post his tax list immediatily and make his report to the city council at their next adjourned meeting and recieve their instructions thereon: seconded by councilor J.F. Allred and passed by the council. The council adjourned till Nov, 30th/74 6 1/2 O clock P.M.
