August 5th 1872. An election was held in Spring City to elect city officers.

James A. Allred was elected Mayor. Samuel B. Frost, Redich N. Allred, John Frantzen, John Sarsen, Henning Olsens, Samuel G. Bunned were elected city councilors. Issac M. Behunnin and William P. Barney Justices of the Peace. S.R. Aiken Clerk of Election

1st session Saturday Nov 23/72 6 Oclock P.M. The Mayor convened the city council at the Meeting house and the following resolutions were passed by the council viz. That the Mayor proceed forthwith to improve the Spring City cemetery laying west of said city and south of the county road leading to Moroni by causing the same to be grubed, surveyed and laid off into lots according to the plot presented to the council by J.M. Behunnin.

Also that the city Recorder be authorized and required to notify each Licentiate when their licence shall have expired and renew the same if requisite.

A license for the sale of Merchandize; also a license for the sale of Spirituous, Vinous and Fermented Liquor for Medical purposes only were granted to the Spring City Cooperation Mercantile institution

Ajourned to Saturday, Dec. 7th/ 72 6 Oclock P.M.

{14} Motioned by R.N. Allred and seconded; it was unanimously resolved; that the Mayor or, Councilor, Marshal and policemen who served during the lst term or any portion thereof, should as their only remuneration, have their city property taxes remited: And their city poll taxes also according to theirtime they were in officer. And all those who have worked their poll taxes shall be exempt be exempt from such service during a term coresponding to that of their service in office, Adjourned till Sat. Fed, 1st/73. 6. O. clock. The Mayor convened the city council at the meeting house and the following resolution were passed by the council Viz. 1st That there be a commitee appointed to draft an ordinance relating to Small Pox or contation. 20, That S.B Frost, R.N. Allred and J Frantzen be that {March 1st} committee. Ajourned till 6 O. cock P.M. {9th} At 6 O. clock P.M. The city council again assembled at the meeting house and an Ordinance was passed establis-hing Quarantine limits; appointing a Board of health: and defining their duties. council adjourned Sine Die. {10th} Thirsday March 13/73 6. O. clock P.M. The city council assembled at the meeting house to adopt measures for security againt the spreading of contagion The mayor appointed S.Bl Frost R.N. Allred and J. Larsen. as a committee to draft an ordinance to that effect. adjourned till Friday March 1515. 6.O.C

{15} {11th}Friday. March 14th/73. 6. O.clock P.M. The city council met at the meeting house and passed an Ordinance restraining travel to and from settlements infected with contagious diseases. Also pass an Ordinance appointing (Cabrin?) W. Moore and William M. Scott as policemen. Adjourned Sine Die. July 22 1873 Grabted a license to Geo. Crisp and Robert Blain for two Dollars to kill and vend meats within the city limits during three months from date. August 1st 1873. Granted a license to A. Neils Olsen for two Dollars & fifty cents to kill and vend meats within the city limits during the months of August, September & October 1873 {12th} Monday September the 8th 1873. 6 O. clock P.M. The Mayor convened the city council at the Meeting house Mayor James A Allred, Councilors S.B. Frost, J. Larsen, Heming Olsen, and S. G, Bunnel being present. and the following resolutions were passed viz. To appoint a city councilor to fill the place of John Frantzen resigned, and two Policment by ordinance; S. B. Frost was appointed to draft an ordinance to that effect. Adjourned. Sep. 9th/73 6 [] {13th} Tuesday Sept. 9th 1873. 6. O. clock P.M. The city council met at meeting house pursuant to adjournment and passed and ordinance appointing Joseph T. Ellis as city councilor in place of J. Frantzen reainged, and John F. Allred and John H. (Zabristie?) as city policmen. Also passed a resolution to take grain for city taxes for 1873at the following prices, biz. Wheat seventy five cents, per bushel, Barley, seventy cents,

Also passed a resolution to empty a surveyor to determine the true portion of the touor of Soring City by running the section lines [&] and appointed S. B. Frostand Joseph T. Granted a license to Acord to kill & vend meats during the month of November 1873 for one bus -hel of wheat paid into the city treasury. {14th} Tuesday January 13th/74 6 O. Clock P.M. The city council was convened at the Meeting House pressent councilors (Sam?) B. Frost, John Larsen Hemnning Olsen, Sam G. Bunnel and Joseph T. Ellis. In the absence of the Mayor the meeting was called to order by the senior councilors S. B. Frost was chosen Mayor pro. ten during the absence of the Mayor. Tuesday Jan 20th/74 6. O. Clock P.M. was a time appointed to hear and act upon the report of William S. Barney as assessor and collector for the year 1873 and portion of 1872 And Tuesday Jan 27th/74 6. O. Clock P.M. The city council met at the Meeting House. The contemplated business was defered till future time, The council passed a resolution to appoint a committee of finance; whereupon council R.N. Allred nominated Joseph T. Ellis and Henning Olsen for said office which
