Also the council resolved to take Wheat, Barley and Oats at one and one half cent per pound on taxes for 1875. The Finance committee made their report respecting their examination of the tax list for 1875 made on the 29th of June and reported at the meeting house on the 30th of June 1875. The committee appointed to examine the [clossing] in the street north of Wm. Scotts made their report. Councilor R. N. Allred presented a petition praying to be excused from serving a city councilor for the remainder of the term on account of pre[s] of business else where which was granted. Lauritz Larsen & J. F. Allred were appointed a committee to wait on certain individuals to ascertain whether they would werve as city councilor in place of of Redick N. Allred resigned. Pres. Orson Hyde made a verbal petition for a grant of the use of his loy house for wood & c,an action on which was postponed until a future time. Clcosing Prayer by L. Larsen. Council adjounred sine die.

{No. 26.} 33 Saturday Dec 11th 1875, The Mayor convened the city council at the Union Hall. Roll call. A Quorum being present. Prayer by councilor Lauritz Larsen. On petition of Niels H. Boursen and Jens Jensen their fines imposed on them on the 10th day of July 1875 for obstructing the side walks was commuted from cash to labor on public work; and they are required to hold themselves in readiness to perform the same when call on An Ordinance was passed appointing J. Frantzen a city councilor in place of R. N. Allred resigned. The bill of A. J. Allred and W. M. Allred Dated Dec. eleventh A.D. 1785 was ruled out. The bill of [cont] of C.W. Moore of one dollar and five cents for deputy police services was granted and ordered to be applied on his taxes for the year 1875. The bill of Wm S. Barney Justice of the peace of $14.50 lost by the city in as said on the 17th of Jan. A.D. 1874. was refered to the finance committee. Motioned by J. F. Allred and seconded by A. Acord and voted by the council that a committee of three be appointed to make amendments to the Spring City charter said committee to be appointed by the Mayor also notified by him of their apponitment. A committee of two viz. Rasmus Justensen & Sam Allred was appointed to select a place for erecting a city lock[up] and report at the next meeting.

Allred and voted by the council that the bill of fees and expenses for services & c. of Mayor, members of the council, Marshal and Recorder, as reported by the finance committee be allowed and appropriated. Reuben W. Allred the street supervisor made a report of his doings which was accepted The adjournment was until Friday Dec. 17th/75. 5 O.clock PM Closing Prayer by R.W. Allred. Friday Dec 17/75. 5. O.clock P.M. The council met at the Meeting house pursuant to adjounment. Roll Call. A quorum present. Prayer by D.H. Allred. The Mayor reported that he had appointed and notified George Brough, John F. Allred & A. R. Aiken as a committee to make out and report to the city council such amendments to the city charter of Spring City as in their judgement they think requiste: Said committee reported their amendments which were revised and accepted by the council, and forwarded to the Legislative assembly for their action upon the same John F. Allred chairman of the finance committee made their report on a bill of 14 dollars & 50 cents cost in suit losy by the city before Wm S. Barney J. C. on the 17th day of Jun[e] 1874 to this effect that in their judgment only 4 dollars & thirty five cets remained viz. Jurors $[2].50, three witnesses $1.50, Attorney, 35 cents; which was concured in by the council and appropriated.

35 Motioned by councilor L. Larsen and seconded by A. Acord that Bishop F. Olsen's taxes for 1875 abated; Voted in favor by the council. Motioned by J.F. Allred seconded by D. H. Allred that the Spring City Coop. Mer. Institution have a retaill liquor license for three months from and after Nov 4th. 1875 till Feb 4th 1876 for ($6) six dollars; Voted in favor by the council. Voted by the council that the Spring City Coop. Ber. Inst. have a retail mercantile license from Nov 4th 1875 till July 4th 1876 at the rate of fifteen Dollars a year, which will be ($10) ten dollars. The committee who was appointed to locate the city Lockup for prison) reported that two rods wide on the north end of the lot occupied by the Union Hall comany could be {year 1876} had for that purpose, Council adjourned Sine die {116} Friday January 7th 1876, 6 O clock P.M. The council met at the meeting house to take into consideration the report of the committee appointed to make amendments to the Spring City Charter and act upon the same; which after being revised was accepted by the council. Adjounred Sine Die. Thursday March 9th 1876 One O. Clock P.M. The city Council convened at the meeting house. Prayer by councilor L. Larsen. After hearing the report. of assessor & collector; a motion was made by Councilor S. B. Frost & seconded by councilor A. Acord that the assessor and Collector make exertion to collect the dilinquent taxes for the year 1875 and report at the next meeting; which

36 was noted by the council: Also that Reuben W. Allred the street supervisor make exertion to obtain in labor or otherwise the delinquent taxes of 1874 and apply the same on the streets of said city which was concured in by the council. Upon the petition of Samuel Allred he was relesed from serving a city policemen. Prayer by D. H. Allred. Adjourned till Monday the 20th of March/76 one o clock pm Monday March 20th/76 One O clock P.M. The city council met at the meeting house pursuant to adjounrment. The roll was called a quorum was present The opening prayer was made by councilor J. F. Allred. The Assessor & Collector made his report as requested as to the collection of delinquent taxes of 1875: Viz That according to the best of his knowledge having called for them very few were in a situation to pay money or grain a present as almost all expressed that theyy had not their seed grain: said report was accepted by the council. The city street supervisor was requested to repo report his doings at the next meeting. An appropriation of one dollar was made for James Commander for services done on the street. An Ordinance was passes appointing S. R. Aiken Assesor of taxes & Collector of the same in Spring City for the year 1876. The following bills were presented for for services performed in surveying said city & c. J. F. Allred $5. J.F. Ellis $12. S.B. Frost$7. A. J. Allred $6.50 W.M. Allred $5. E. W. Fox $2.50.
