A good day. Ben sent John Ward to Renan this morning for a matress and shavings. Jim cleaned up a brier patch and then went to John Hutchersons to a barn raising. This morning Nellie got dinner. She made the children some pies. I went to see [Mildred Ferguson?]. She is sick. Julia is worried a most to death about her. I come by Mr. Bookers and bought a few potatoes for the children. Well Ben has come to go to bed.

Friday, March 9, 1923

A good day. The men worked on the pasture fence. Ben went to Lee's to a [cutting mach?]. We had [creasy salit] for dinner. The land was frozen this morning. The children went to school. I churned and baked some sweet potatoes. Afther the children come home, we shucked two shocks of corn. Henry brought it to the corn house. Mr. Mayhew and Eula and Harold come and they played games.

Saturday, March 10, 1923

A cloudy windy day. Ben worked on his car most of the day and Jim helped him some. The children has had a good time looking on. Nellie got dinner. I put a quilt together and mended some things for the children. Heard from Mildred. She is very sick. Mrs. [Kellie?] is very sick. Oh I hope they may get well. Irvin Harvey was here today for butter. He said hat he was at Ben Worsham's last night at a sosial. Frank Blair says that he is going to start west one day next week. I know they will miss him at home.

A rainy day very disagreable day. We was all at home at dinner. Henry went to Johnson Reynolds. Mildred Ferguson is seriously sick. Nellie got dinner. She baked potato pies that pleased the children. Ben helped Edna fix her beads. Painted them for her. Edna fed the calf for me. Mable is sitting up in the bed talking. She has a bunch of violets. I have stayed with the children in the dining room. Ben put papers under his mattress this evening.

A cloudy morning and some rain. Clear this evening. Ben went to Strait Stone. He walked. Jim helped Norman Booker make a [harrow]. Nellie got most of the dinner. She sewed some. I commenced squares for a quilt. They hope that Mildred is better. Norman Booker's [Baley] is sick. The horses broke down the fence and got in the oats.
