Tuesday, March 13, 1923

A rainy morning. Ben went to Renan this morning. He went to see Kate Harvey a while. Got home at dinner time. Jim hung up the meat and smoked it today. Nellie got dinner. I got breakfast and churned and milked. I pieced on my quilt. Heard that Mildred is better. Do hope she may get well. I had a letter from Carrie today. [?hanles] Tomson sent here today for butter. Miss Reynolds was on the car with him. Mabel has been cross today. Ben brough a calf from Jim Farthings today.

Wednesday, March 14, 1923

A good day. Ben and [sic] ditched on the branch. Jim cut some briers. Nel got dinner. I cut some salit for dinner. I churned twice today. I worked on my quilt a while. Then went to Johnsons to see Mildred. She is very sick. I am uneasy a bout her but hope she may get well for Julia's sake. Nannie [Fale?] is staying there this week. Johnson brought me home. Hattie washed here today. They yoked my calf today. I hope she may stay in the pasture. The paper come today.

Thursday, March 15, 1923

A good day. Ben worked on his ditch and Jim cleaned up [land?]. This evening they went to Mays to a cutting match. Nellie got dinner. This evening she went to see Mildred and staid all night. Mildred is no better and I am afraid she never will be. I sewed on my quilt. Mabel has bin very good all day. The children went to school. I gave John Ward my nice rooster. The young one had whipped him and would of killed him but I put him up.

Friday, March 16, 1923

A very rainy day. The branch has bin out of the banks all day. We got using water from a spring up in the woods. Ben and Henry went for water this evening. Nellie come from Johnson Reynols. This morning Reubin brought her home. Henry went to school. Ben and Jim cant do any thing out of doors. Nellie got dinner. Edna churned. I finished my quilt squares. It rained so hard that I did not get the eggs.

Saturday, March 17, 1923

A cloudy morning. Clear this evening. Ben and Jim could not do anything much. John Ward brought us two buckets of water from his spring. By twelve we could get water at home. We had no mail today. Heard this evening that no one had crossed the island today. Nellie got dinner. Ben cut some sallit. We did enjoy it. Ben went to Rob Hubbands this evening. Will stay all night. I think Edna miss him worse than any body else. Jim went with Mr. [Peak?] to Renan. I am about a sleep. Good night. Jo Edmons has mesles.
