Wednesday, March 28, 1923

A very windy day. Ben carried Lizzie to Dr. Owen this morning. Mrs Owen carried her to Gretna. Jim plowed while Ben was gone. Then Ben plowed the ballance of the day. Working three horses to the plow and it pulls them hard. Jim worked some on the garden. Cleaned out the spring. Raked around the spring yard and burned the trash. Henry and Edna has bin sick all day. They are broke out now and I hope they will soon be well again. Nell has waited on the children with some thing to try to eat and water to drink. She has cut out sewing but did not do much sewing today.

A clear colde day. Ben plowed half the day. John Ward plowed some this evening. Ben went to Renan and Cedar Forest this evening. He got a plow from Mr. Dews. Jim plowed up the garden and planted some things. Lee Brumfield is here tonight. Henry and Edna are both sick. They are broke out with measles. I do hope they will be better soon. They both got a lettr from their school mates today. Nellie cut and made Mabel two dresses and bloomers today. I doged a bout as usual.

Friday, March 30, 1923

A good day. Ben and Jim plowed some. They finished hauling up the corn. John Ward planted his garden. Nellie finished making the bayby two dresses and bloomers. I worked the button holes. Nellie washed all the evening. the post office in [Gretna?] come to see Nellie today. Henry and Edna has bin sick all day. Edna is some better tonight. Franklin has followed the men most of the day. Our phone has gone dead. Today we cant her over it so as to under stand any thing that is said. Ben went to Norman Bookers tonight to get them to phone Johnson Reynolds to come and fix it.

Saturday, March 31, 1923

A windy day. The ground was frozen this morning. They plowed some here today. Johnson come and fixed the phone. Edna is feeling fine a gain. Henry is not so well. Nellie finished Ednas dress today. She has made the baby two dresses and Edna one this week. I dont do any thing that counts but keep busy most of the time. John Ward and family went visiting this evening. I guess they got very colde. Mabel seemed to have a colde. I am so sorry for her to be sick. Ben worked in his garden some this evening. I do hope it may get warmer tonight. Guess the fruit is killed.

Sunday, April 1, 1923

A clear colde day. Ice plenty. This morning guess the most of the fruit is killed. Ben carried Jim and Nellie to the train and back by about ten oclock. We have staid here all day. Henry come down stairs today. I hope that they may soon get well. John Hutcherson was here this evening. Said Mrs Jesse has measles. I am sorry for them with that baby and no one to wait on them. I get to want to see some of the children so bad. I feel like starting but I cant go and some of them cant and wont come to see me.
