Wednesday 12th continued

Levis(?) went to Phila Wm Money came up – Jonathan went with Weaver after load of goods Wm. Reynolds came after Seine pd $15. – wrote 3 deeds for Jethro McCauley & Booth John Mearns called with bill $3.85 offer to pay $1 for Deed I had written for McCullough ----------------13----------------------------- Went to Jethro McCauley’s John Booth got deed for farm and paid balance $9.50. Jethro lifted mortgage to Thomas Miller, $342. Samuel Hanna deeded farm to Jethro and received $500 cash – Went to Danls -- Mending seine – J. S. Moffett & B. Miller – Mr. Hughes buried – ?

1851 14th March

Weather pleasant – worked in shop – ------------15-------------- Worked in garden – planted onions & red peppers & Started after dinner to John W Tyson’s sale – stopped at Danls and helped him & Mr. Moffitt to mend Seine. Not very well – took Calomel at night Sunday 16 Raining and unpleasant – laid in bed all forenoon – sick from medicine. ------------Monday 17th---------- Wet and unpleasant— Jonathan Lane set in to work snowed in afternoon and all night—deepest snow this season settled with Wm. Tyson

Tuesday March 18th

Snow on the ground about a foot deep – Cedar tree broke snow melting away in after noon. Danl J. & Thos Brown here – settled with Thomas Brown. -------------19------- Frozen in morning day pleasant snow melting – D. J. went to Port. Levis went to Phila – Finished knitting seine -----------20---------- Cool in morning – roads muddy, Absalom & Jethro moved—Helped Jonathan work a little in shop ?

Friday 21st

Ground frozen. Some snow still on ground – worked for Miss Billington in the afternoon – Mr. Helmbold came back from Conference. Was at the school recitation at night. -------------22nd----------- A beautiful morning – ground a little frozen. Went to Elkton with Rachel Took Mr. Reynolds siene and delivered it to Fagan Ernest to take to Georgetown & Roads(?) and paid him 50 cts for freight Got boards and iron – Sunday 23 Rained hard all day. Very dull day

Monday March 24th

Pleasant day – Streams full of water – Went to vendue of Stewart H. Gallaher Cherry Hill bought pair of planes $1.50 23 hubs @ 12 oz – 2.87 ½ -- paid -------------25---------------- Went early in morning to Daniel J.’s – Helped him to tar seine at Jesse H. Simpers; John S. Maffitt assisted – pleasant day – roads improv ing rapidly – very few herrings yet in the creeks – Milly went to Elkton with Edwin Chandler – A very favorable day for moving ?
