A good day. Ben & Josie worked on the cook room walls all the evening.

Josie and Fannie Power ironed all the morning. This evening Marvin let Reese take Henry & Hugh Brumfield and I to Cedar Forest. We fished. Did not catch anything much. We had some trouble when we got to Strait Stone. We found that we had left Hughs shoes so we went back and got them. I was glad to get them. Mr Charles Anderson helped Reese with the car. I did thank him so much. John B is here tonight. I am always glad for him to come. Fannie P and George Blair went to Gretna this evening to see a ball game. I have finished the quilt that I peiced for Alma Bennett.

A good morning. Rain at Gretna but none here to do any good. Josie staid at home and washed and ironed and cooked for her self and the children. Ben & Jim and I went to the meeting of the farmers at the experiment station not far from Chatham. There was a big crowd and lots of something to eat and and speaking. If every one did not get enough to eat it was their no trying to get it.

Met several of my kindsfolks and friends that I once knew. We come to Gretna and staid a lone time. It rained hard. It is raining here now. I hope that it may rain enough to get the land wet.

A good day. I got up and washed dishes and killed two chickens. Josie cut them up. The preacher & wife is very pleasant company. They went a way a bout 9 oclock this morning. Ben went to Gretna. Jim come with him back. Marvin bought the Dollie Hays place to day. Hope he may be satisfied with it.

Heard Ben & Jim tells a bout the awful rain that they had at Gretna and the damage that it done. I am sorry for them. That was nothing that people could help.

Denia Blair come here a little while this evening. I was glad to see her. I am going to see her soon if I keep able.
