Monday May 30, 1921
Cloudy most of the day. No rain. Ben & Jim worked on their tobacco.
Josie washed with Henrys help. I got dinner. This evening we went to Marvins. Julia Fergerson & Mildred was there. We did not get up the turkeys. Could not find them. Hope that it will not rain.
Thursday June 2, 1921
A good day. Jim & Ben and Henry worked tobacco all day or nearly all day. Josie washed this morning. I got dinner. I cooked cabbage & potatoes and beets & onions. All raised in the garden this year.
This evening I went to Marvins a few minutes. Carrie was sewing. I have suffered some with my hip nearly a week. I am glad that I am able to go as well as I can. Do hope it will soon get well.

Friday June 3, 1921
A good day. The men folks worked tobacco all day. Ben went to Hubbard's store tonight. He carried three of the children with him. Josie ironed most of the day. This evening I went to Marvins. Thought I might get to go to the store but Reese was so busy that he could not go. Carry was sewing on a dress for her self. Ben got done his little[?] crop of tobacco. Hope they can get Jims done tomorrow. We have a good garden for this time of the year.
Henry is reading and it will soon be 10 oclock.
Saturday June 4, 1921
A clear morning. Rain this evening. Ben and Jim & Henry worked tobacco all the morning. This evening Ben went to Gretna to meet Nellie Brumfield. Three of the children went and I went. I bought a pair of shoes and a few other things. It rained all the time that we were comeing home. We did not get wet. Josie had supper a bough ready when we got home.
Tuesday June 21, 1921
A good day. We need rain bad. Ben finished cutting Kate Harveys wheat. He got done by twelve oclock. He come home for dinner. Jim plowed some to day.
Ben shelled two bushels of corn and went to the mill at Cedar Forest. Henry and Franklin and I went with him. Josie washed a big washing. She washed this evening.
Marvin and Carrie and Reese went to Altavista and went over to Bedford to visit the Reese homested.
