Sunday, March 23, 1919
A good day. We all staid at home and eat dinner. We had fried chicken for dinner.
This evening Ben & Josie, Edna & Franklin and I went to Jim Powers. The first time I have bin on a car this year.
Jim went to Marvin Smiths. Kate Harvey was at Marvins.
Fred & Irvin Hutcherson come here to day. Henry was very glad. I guess they had a good time.

Tuesday, March 25, 1919
A good day. The men folks plowed nearly all day Jim and Ben went to Lees today and carried a dog. I went to George Blains this evening. Josie & Franklin started to go with me but Franklin would not walk so Josie and the baby stopped at Marvins.
Marvin went to [Altavista] this morning for lumber but could not get it. Henry and Edna went to school. Edna untied my shoes to night. Franklin has a very bad cold tonight.

Wednesday, March 26, 1919
A good day Ben & Jim grubed all day. Mr Owen plowed. Josie & I got dinner. Josie baked a cake and tea cakes. Marvin carried me to White Falls. Carrie and the children went as far as Kates. I am so glad to get to go. When I got home Nettie & Hellen & Virginia were here. I was glad that they came. I had a letter from Julia Furgerson this evening. I am always glad to hear from her.

Friday, March 28, 1919
A clear colde day. Jim cut. Owen hauled some. Ben went to Willie Mayhews and cut some wood and to Tom Peaks. To night Ben & Jim has gone to Lewis's Store.
Josie got dinner. I sowed on a quilt that I commenced some time a go. I finished to day.
Kate Harvey come a few minutes this morning. She come on Mrs Owens car & walked home. Josie went to Marvins a little while this evening.
Henry cut his finger to night and fainted while his mother wrapped it up.

Saturday, March 29, 1919
A bright cool day. Ben sawed wood for Mr Peak. Jim set up wood in the woods. Mr Owen plowed. Josie got dinner. I set by the fire.
Reese & Paul Smith come and ask Ben to cut their hair. Gladis Brumfield and Myrtle Shelton come and got some flowers.
Ben put a yoke on the cow this evening. I hope she wont kill her self with it.
