Friday, February 2, 1923
A clear morning. Cloudy all the evening and raining tonight. Very warm for the time of year. Ben hauled in leaves for bedding the horses. Jim helped. Nellie kept house, got dinner and kept Mabel. Mabel lives Nellie and Jim all she knows how. Irvin Harvey come and got me and brought me home. Kate Harvey is sick. She is not in bed but I am a fraid she will have to be. Certainly hope not. The children went to school. Come home through the rain. Ben painted some this evening. Hope he may finish soon. Edna got a letter today.
Saturday, February 3, 1923
Rain a gain today. Jim hung up the meat today. Ben painted most of the day. I think he done a good job. Nellie cleaned up some. I got dinner except corn bread. I put feathers in some pillow ticks and a bolster. Nellie washed her dress today. Mrs Carr sent Mabel dresses and two shirts by mail today. Nellie bathed her and put some of them on her. Henry went to Mt. Airy and Renan today. There is lots of sickness yet. There was a ??? carried by her today. A Mrs. Waller I do hope that time will get better soon.
Monday, February 5, 1923
Snowed most of the day. The men folks did not work much. Ben varnished his furniture. Nellie done the cooking and sewed on my rugs. Finished them tonight. Dr. Willie B[rumfield?] was here today a little while. Kate Harvey they hope is some better. Irvin and Duepney(?) come this evening and got the cot for to put in Kate's room. I got a letter from Mrs. Carr this evening.
Tuesday, February 6, 1923
A bad day. Snowed some today. Ben worked on picture frames. Jim made fires until dinner. Then he went to Renan and to Bookers. They think that Kate is better. Hope so. Any way there is more sickness than I ever knowed. Heard today that there was 22 persons on Mr. Less Bookers place sick.
Henry went to school. They had very few pupils. Nellie done most of the cooking. I sewed a little. I milked yesterday and today Edna helped me. She milked one cow. They baby has bin very cross yesterday and today. Nat Wooding did not come by here today.
Wednesday, February 7, 1923
A good day as to weather. Plenty of snow on the groun. The children Henry and Edna went to school. Jim and Ben went to Renan. They walked. John come to see us tonight. I am glad that he came. Heard that Kate is getting on well they think. Jack Harvey is at home to see his mother. Nellie made the baby a dress today and done the cooking. Julia's children are sick and Jack Junior is sick. I do hope that the people will soon be well.
